Teaching embryology without 3D illustrations is a crime … at least on such a big platform.. Many of the lectures seems hurried just for the sake of finishing within 10 min .

while visual aids were pretty cool, the lecture was more of narration but not with simplicity and in-depth tutoring i am accustomed to. I was hoping for more variation, which was the reason i spent a little more time watching them. After a few, i concluded that it wasn't doing it for me. But of course, it was only a few topics i reviewed as i was busy with clinical rotations. thank you all in all.

First time watching it and it's really well explained. Some things are hard to understand, but it helps to pause and try to imagine it. Couldn't ask for more. Educating videos shouldn't be movies, pausing to understand works fantastic as everything explained makes sense.

This lesson was very poorly organized and somewhat confusing. The content was exposed in what appears to be an arbitrary order and no logical connection was present. We were burdened with the graphs of multiple epidemiological studies while other elements of the diseases such as clinical presentation and diagnosis were neglected. Nonsurgical therapy is mentioned on the slides but was not explained in the lesson

honestly, it almost looks like it was explained in the most unclear way I ever hear. on&off centers, no explanation on the laters of the retina, where did the signal send further by bipolar cells and maybe a little bit on the pathway could be nice probably a little bit more thinking need to be done here in order to makes it easier to understand

This lecture lacks depth and does not cover the conditions in depth (e.g. physical findings, acute vs chronic pictures, etc). It's under cardiology, so I do not understand why it feels like an introduction only.

You only mentioned valvular defects leading to aortic regurgitation what about the aortic root defects? This lecture lacks so much more knowledge that we must know both for medical school exams and the USMLEs. For instance, where are the physical findings associated AR? The diastolic descrescendo murmur, wide pulse pressure, and S3 heart sound. The specific pulse patterns such as, Corrigan's pulse, water hammer, or pistol shot pulse patterns. How are patients with aortic regurgitation treated and etc? I've been seeing so much lack of consistency with lectures on lecturio recently.

He is such a great lecturer, demonstrating heart murmurs with his own voice better than the actual murmurs we hear through a stethoscope. That was an exaggeration but you get my point. He is fantastic.

Great course! I will recommend it to all of my peers. I love that the speaker speaks clearly and slowly, although the pace becomes a normal conversational pace at 1.25x speed. This allows me to go through the content that is easy for me to understand quickly (at 1.25x to 1.5x speed) while I go through more difficult content at a slower pace (1.0x speed) without having the speak sound like he was drunk (0.75x to 0.5x speed).

I have been following these lectures and this man really needs to drink some water because the mouth sounds are extremely distracting. I am suffering through these lectures because medical school is actually worse and taught on ZOOM and my medical school doesn't seem to believe in actually teaching, but this guy's extra mouth sounds are absolutely dreadful. All he needs to do is lower the mic from out of his mouth to eliminate the extra mouth sounds. I was going to give one star, but it's not like I don't like the content, I just can't concentrate over the mouth sounds. Also speak a bit faster. I don't have all day.

In my view, the neurophysiology is one of the vital key of the medicine by knowing it and combining knowledge and skills with anatomy, pathophysiology and surgery you could figure out pathology in terms of when you facing patients with traumatic injury . In contrast when you seeing infected patient with contagious viruses, bacteria and fungi and so on, of course you need to immediately think about combining knowledge and skills of microbiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology and biochemistry. Great course A very important indeed I wandered how to improve the walls of a vessel and important spots like an aorta first example and IVC Carotid arteries which does really important arterial blood supply to the brain vertebral arteries which are play really important role I mean a lot of things we can think off . How to avoid for instance brain haemorrhages or aortic dissection and how to manage hypertension IC or IOP and BP . CVP . Etc

I have just begun the Respiratory Physiology video lectures and the following is the evidence. These video's are right up there with the famous John B. West video's on Respiratory Physiology. John B. can't come close to these Lecturio lectures that honestly satisfy the student. Dr. Wilson, to some, literally takes their breath away with these video lectures on respiratory physiology.

Love lecturing videos! I find them very helpful as they cover the information of each topic in basic terms. I love that you can speed them up, pause them, and rewatch them for your convenience. The post video quizzes also help me stay engaged with the content I’m learning. I have noticed my grades improving after watching lecturing videos before my exams.

The explanations are really clear, I can easily imagine the process. One of the best things are the pictures used on the slides.

I thought this lecture was relatively easy to follow. The video brings forward the relevant pathways to highlight them and Dr Wilson explains their function and why they are causing the response they do. I can understand that if you watch this one out of series it might be a little hard to follow but like most of the lecturio videos, you should watch the entire series once through and then review specific videos at your leisure.

These lecture series are so excellent that as a student we have the capacity to control the phase of the video, and secondly doctor Thad Wilson explain this concepts so clearly that I find it very useful along side my course in MBBS. In general, I find the lectures provided in Lecture to be of exceptional quality. This one is not only below that standard, but, for me, it fails entirely as an instructive tool especially in regard to the discussion around the first figure. Basic principles to convey information are missing, and when combined together make for a frustrating experience where little to no information is really conveyed. 1. The labels are indicated only as the lecturer speaks. The slide never shows the labels at one time only. (I understand the lecturer wishes to flag the information he is talking about. This could just as easily been done with a figure that shows all of the labels but uses color or boldness to draw our attention to the item under discussion. Better yet, in lieu of highlighting the label, highlighting the actual anatomical item is even more effective). 2. The labels are not adjacent to each other so that the reader looses a visual relation. This is a circular structure with consistent layering, yet the labels jump from side to side for no reason. This is not only distracting but prevents us viewers from easily following the structure along with the discussion. 3. There is no rhyme or reason to the coloring. Connective tissue and muscle are both pink and yellow. This makes it impossible for the viewer to quickly appreciate the structures. Frankly, from this lecture, I have no clue what is where in terms of the layer of the esophagus and the location of each plexus. I ask each of you at Lecturio who are reading this review to see if you are able to grasp this information after reviewing this lecture. In addition to fixing this lecture, it is my hope to hear from Lecturio as to whether the company has in place an editorial team to ensure that basic principals to successfully convey information, as has been done in this lecture, are never missed. After all, we students are paying for a professional service to help educate us, not waste our time. Thank you for your consideration.

Dr. Alpert is no doubt a great professor and explain things in a very academic way. However, I do not appreciate the misconceptions he has about medical practice abroad. He makes the sophomoric mistake of comparing the absent health system in the US to western Europe efficient and fair health system. On the other hand he implies with old data that Latin American systems are not good.

In my student days in the 1950’s Statistics was a chore. It is only when I had some data of my own was it interesting. But it was the event of electronic calculators and later computers that got me interested again in Maths. The greater part of my professional career in Nuclear Medicine again stimulated an interest in both maths and the physical sciences. Latter, I became interested in heath effects of the radiation of populations. Especially, of interest to me was the debate, still on-going of the, ‘No Linear Threshold.’ I understand very useful from the point of view of setting regulatory standards. Useless from the point of view of predicting deaths from low level radiation. Of course, this was formulated prior to contemporary ideas of cell biology. To return to your lecture series, it is of great interest to me as to the definitions used in epidemiology. Thank you for a stimulating series

This is completely inadequate for the questions posed. The first question gives "you observed red gnomes outside the box on the left for both pH and HCO3" and asks for the condition. Verbatim from the lecture ‘’Respiratory alkalosis’’. Why? Cos there are two gnomes on one side." Yet the answer is metabolic acidosis.

The videos are fine, but it’s not enough to understand the material for the first time; it is just an adjunct to the lecture I guess.

The reason I chose a 4 star rating was because the lectures were amazing and wonderful but I do feel there is room for improvement. I feel in this section, the slides could have contained more information when possible to download and I personally feel that slides was the downfall in this section from preventing the full 5 star rating. I feel the slides could use an improvement and expand on more details. I also believe that the lecturer could have expanded on some concepts a bit more to provide more understanding by providing more examples and various other techniques. The length of the videos were amazing, the way in which the lecturer spoke was captivating and caught my attention and I most certainly enjoyed the lectures and I did learn alot that I never caught in class before. I do urge that the slides do get an improvement by adding certain figures and more concepts especially for us to download. I think it would help alot.

I checked the entire ECG / EKG lectures and they confused me more than they helped. The article 7 steps was a good start in my opinion but a video lecture of someone walking me through the steps would be better. The lectures don't cover how one should go about reading the ECG and what to infer from the data provided. This would come in handy to read them not just for the step exams but the clinical rotations as well so maybe add or change them up. ECG in Boards and Beyond could be looked at as good example for that in my opinion.

I am able to write my exams only listening to your videos. And your Qbank is very very useful for me...

I have really enjoyed the course because Prof. Thad Wilson explained all the concepts in easy and understanding way. So I can integrate all these concepts and apply while I converge that knowledge with other concepts that I have to apply while I'm trying to understand and see how other body systems actually work. For example the cardiovascular system, among others.

The way that Dr. Wilson teaches is really good and make things easier.

Dr. Alpert is a very good presenter, but a little rushed and stiff, clearly not a medium he is comfortable with. Again, look for higher production value, I can get talking head slide shows from my school. Think 2D or 3D animation. This is great for the heart because it moves it does things. I have Netter, use it all the time. Show me tha SA-AV conduction path in 2D rotations, static and while the heart is beating. Make the POV an RBC and ride the currents through the heart, the lungs. Also, great for the congenital malformations. Show me a tet heart in motion, with flow lines , then show me that on U/S or ECG. And show me a patient with the condition. Step 2 isn't about the science factoids, it is about the clinical art, that means patients.

Very first time that I have understood completely acid base balance/ pathology. Beautifully explained!

The content of this course was fairly comprehensive and Professor Wilson does a good job of explaining most of the content. The quiz questions are also useful though sometimes poorly worded. I really liked the last few lectures on the more clinical practicalities of the content we had just learned. The course is arranged in a way that makes it somewhat difficult to follow sometimes. I had to go away and make sure i was read up fairly well on the kidney before i could understand enough to watch through all the lectures and i feel a better introduction to the kidney and how its anatomy and physiology are arranged and interconnect would have been useful. I think a section regarding the interaction of pharmacology and renal physiology would also have been a nice touch. All in all, worthwhile once you can begin to understand it

In the lecture Thad says that ATPase is a V-type pump, but in the test it is a P-Type pump, which is correct. This pump is called a P-type ion pump because the ATP interactions phosphorylates the transport protein and causes a change in its conformation. There should be a review process to ensure accuracy before these lessons are released. Overall a great lecture, but details like this are important ones not to miss. Thanks!

Although the lecture content is good. This speaker frequently uses inappropriate sentence structure and phrasing. The result is certain sentences, when spoken, become confusing even though their content is simple. For example...Lets talk about how the placenta and its roles in helping the fetus develop. The sentence makes sense when you read it in the script without having listened to it. However, in the mini-lecture, it was read without pauses or breaks that clarified the emphasis of the sentence. it should have been read as: For example...Lets talk about how the placenta, and its roles in helping the fetus, develop. I know the speaker is likely reading a script, but it happens frequently where his enunciation or sentence delivery does not match the context of sentence. This adds a certain layer of listener confusion which delays the rate at which an individual is progressing through each mini-lecture (4-min lecture becomes 7-minutes). This happens frequently with this speaker and is not a huge deal, until you are forced to listen to all of the physiology lectures, and then become agitated.

I´m coursing embriology at the moment and this course is very interesting, I like the way he teaches.

The course is very useful to refresh our physiological knowledge and quick study time. Dr. Wilson's explanations are very easy to follow, yet I think they're too simple, and I don't recomend the course if wanting to learn specific organ physiology. Also, the course completely dissapointed me in the area of liver physiology, and I think there are many others that need to go deep in complexity and detail of information, like the cellular physiology section, signal transduction was barely mentioned, and it is an extremely necesary aspect for undestanding physiology.

This was a very nice course for refreshing your memory and also getting another explanation so you could understand things better. But for a course like Physiology, it would be nice with some animated slides as well to better understand some things. Because the arrows pointing to stuff or simply just saying the name or color the name could sometimes be a bit confusing. I liked professor Thad, he was easy to understand and made it fun. But the lack of visual aid in form of simulations/animations unfortunately pulled down your score a lot. Also when you have finished a course you can hit course overview and i expected there would be a quiz or something so you could test yourself on every lecture in one test. That would also be a great thing to add. Then you know you have understood everything. However I really liked the questions in the end of the lectures, sometimes i wished there would be more than just 1 or 2 questions. At least at my school the small details are important. And maybe add even more clinical relations. So I give all the lectures in all 4 stars.

I've been interested in cyborg technology since first learning about it in the mid-1970's when I was a little kid. This is a great lecturer who gives great detailed explanation. Unfortunately, he's limited by Lecturio, as it hasn't been able to incorporate videos as visual aid to the lectures yet. Embryo, particularly, is very complex an image to mind picture, especially to young learners, and when you feel there were a few things left to imagination, you know something is missing. I believe videos would be the cherry on top, and would make a great tool for what I think it is almost a perfect way of learning, as it is Lecturio and its lecturers.

Explained everything in simple terms and I finally understand based on previous lectures and this one why we would use such drugs and when. Maybe more details into the mechanism (extra lecture) on such medications. I wished there were explanations on the questions. I'm not quite sure why aspirin would not be used if it could treat coagulating factors.

considering that most students are paying monthly, it will be nice to have a small animation team that works with the lectures to have the highest quality of service, this platform needs to beat videos found on youtube or be equal to it. rather than still pictures. I found the first video not to be as an introduction to this topic of musculoskeletal phy. but so far I like the lecturer and his explanation. it helps supplement my book.

It seems superficial. Why do I care about flow rates? How do the hormones interact? This whole course was just segmented and surface level. Lecturio has the potential to replace a lot of medical schools if they start to connect information rather than segmenting it.

It helps a lot to visualize what is actually happening. I now understand my textbook, which was impossible before. The video-lectures are short, clear, complete and you can trust the information that is given.

The lecturer frequently mispronounces words and stumbles as he speaks quite a bit. It was very distracting and made it hard to focus on what he was trying to say. The course needed more videos that takes about how different variables that impact Guyton curves. The questions asked after each lecture were not always covered during the lecture.

It's good but way too fast. I've already watched the old course by another lecturer and had lectures at school and read my embryology book on this about 6 weeks ago and am using this as exam prep to remember what I've forgotten while focusing on anatomy till now but even though this is not new territory, it is still too fast. Have to pause to read the slides and rewind a lot. If this is watched by someone completely new to embryology, they'd have a hard time following this. It's funny there's a button to increase speed. Might wanna add an option to slow it down too. It could be more detailed but for me personally, this covers the level of detail in our exams.

A very good course, quite thorough! Since this course is also recommended for MBBS students (typically a British degree), it may be worth including some of the NICE guidelines when it comes to treatment as that is what our med school exams are based on. Additionally, the questions in this course aren't very challenging and honestly a little weak - not really at exam level more like a "let's check if you listening quiz". Overall, a very helpful review though.

Lecturio is a great supplement to other educational resources. The videos are high quality. Dr. Alpert does a great job presenting the information (nice pace, speaks well), the videos are accessible from anywhere, & I would recommend them as a great supplemental medical source. I'm actually a pharmacist who was looking to get a more detailed medical picture on disease states & therapeutic management. I'm lucky to have stumbled on to Lecturio. It allows me to see the whole picture the way an M.D. looks at it and it's easier to retain information when you see it vs. reading it. Highly recommend it for all healthcare professionals.

The topics r taught soooo easily that,u can understand even if with a little knowledge...

The course is good but some questions in the quizzes have the wrong correction. Some information in the physiology course is incompatible with the quizzes in pathology. As an example, the information given about the central receptores being sensible to H+ ion and not to CO2 itself (in physiology) is correct but in the pathology course it is considered incorrect in one of the quizzes where we are given the option between CO2, H+ and other ions and the “right” answer is CO2 which is wrong. I would recommended but the quizzes must be checked for erros.

I thought this was the worst taught course Lecturio has to offer. I was left confused most of the time. Fortunately Ive used lecturio for other courses and was very satisfied so I will still recommend this program.

As general principles this can be ok.It is missing examples of ECG tracing on real ECG papers to recognize the normal mean axis in practical way.Would you please do a lecture showing the normal axis and axis deviation in hypertrophy and ischemia

This lecture left me confused at exactly the interplay between these two systems. Perhaps its the diagram. I was lost after Decreased Osmolality. I think that is where this lecture goes down hill.

I have been studying many subjects from Lecturio but I don't like how Physiology is explained. I think there's not enough information and the teacher speaks so quiet and soft.

This was an excellent explanation of different biases including ones that are not listed in typical USMLE books. Very good supplement to my current study materials!

I think that a lot of important concepts were not explained enough, and some at all. I did not like the way things were explained.

Explains the material well without reading off the slides. Other areas could be improved, such as EKG, but overall, he provides a good base and a much needed break between reading assignments.

Sometime the lecturer comes through clinical signs of patients with particular diseases and doesn't explain that sign, just introducs it to that disease. We need to know how that sign looks like when we encouter a patient so that we know how to deal with him.

I have paid for the lecturio.de physiology course but did not understand much because it is so badly explained. Here Dr Wilson explains so well, I understood things I was not expecting to understand any time soon. So 5 stars because the concepts well explained; clear slow speech, physical laws explained, and contrasted with diseases. I would love to hear more lessons from you.

Very good course, it helps you to understand better the way the heart works by simplifying the contents.

Every lecture with professor Thad Wilson is awesome! In my opinion, all topics are very well explained because he keeps concepts simple, at the same time that he explains them with the right amount of detail and accuracy. In conclusion, this will be really useful to approve your exams.

Did good job explaining some of the expected changes, but a poor job at others and simply stated direction of arrow without explanation. Overall, a good lecture but definitely room for more detail to be discussed. Also, very surprised effects of acute blood loss/trauma was not covered.

I've been watching through and writing notes your videos til this one (thank you so much for making this easy and understandable while staying on a detailed level that I need for my exams) BUT there's something that wasn't that clear to me. What did you mean on the slide about type 2, where you mentioned Mobitz? Sentence nr2 of the 3 didn't make much sense to me.

Dr Alpert, a well respected figure in cardiogy, narrates this course in an enjoyable, highly professional way. The 30 to 40 minutes sessions are, to my opinion, much more academic then some of the 2-3 min based lectures. I do want to point out that only by chance i have found the course as it lacks paradoxically from the clinical curriculum. That said, i would love to hear more of his talks and know more of this critical discipline. Kind regards. Omri

I felt it lacked detail of specific transporters, and no references to any diseases or drug MOAs. Not very detailed for medical review/test prep.

I enjoyed the breakdown of each intricate part of the system. I feel that I understand pharmacology better, especially digoxin and its effect on the heart.

Not enough material, lacked depth of material covered, questions too obvious, didn't cover all the hormones, and almost no linking to disease states/pathology.

Easy to learn using the box. I always struggled with this, even on my board exam. This box and explanation made it much easier for me as a visual learner.

Crisp, simple, clear, very useful, going into the core basics which allowed me to acquire a good insight into the mechanics of respiration. Very clear content, very concise and easy to understand. Covers a lot of topics

When paying money I expect to have a more indepth lecture than you can find on youtube. He is good at explaining, but some examples should be explained better, or not brushed over quickly, as well I would suggest to make a couple more videos, that take parts as e.g. confounding and explain it in depth. All in all nice but with some a little bit lacking here and there. I love the fact that they aren't very long, that way you can focus through the whole lecture before taking a break

In my opinion, this course on muscles is good for a review of the most important points of the topic. I couldn't find the striated muscle lecture, there are only smooth muscle lectures here. I think a little bit of more detail could make this course perfect!

Information are organized very well: all concepts that I have studied on my physiology book in some weeks, are here summarized in short lectures that took me an afternoon to go through it. I would strongly recommend it.

I think if you're looking for a very detailed explanation of the system, I think this video is perfect and it goes at a very good pace too. I only needed an specific amount of information, so I ended up watching a video that was too specific for me to use.

Clear and concise, concepts were explained in enough detail and slowly enough to follow.

Good lecturer, though compared to common youtube lectures, most of the material is covered too superficially to really retain much, although the gnome chart was helpful for myself. Future lectures could give just a bit more detail to help the bigger picture ideas stick.

The images and lecture format are very helpful, but I get very distracted every time this professor mis-speaks or stumbles on the lecture. I'm not sure why the lecture is posted with these errors since they can be confusing when you're learning the material for the first time.

Love the fact that the topic is split into bitesize clips and the focus is on understanding first then learning second.

I really enjoy Dr Wilson's lectures. There are concise and high yield. Excellent for viewing over and over again to refresh your memory or drive home concepts.

Generally good lecture but there are tons of typos everywhere on the slides for cardiac physiology and I'm pretty sure he misspeaks occasionally. Make sure you use another resource to fact check

Dr. Wilson does an excellent job in breaking down concepts of acid-base balance in the body and making it plain. He also provides some additional tricks/tools that you may not get in your regular lectures, but will definitely help on an exam. These lectures are top notch, just excellent!

the lecture was way to short. The information was very general. Please make the lectures more detailed and more interactive..maybe actual drawings being drawn as the lecturer is explaining. Also to specify on the detailed part which i mentioned, it would be much better if he explained each neurotransmitter.

Dr. Wilson explains complex concepts clearly and the slides are simple and not cluttered.

I thought it would be more thorough. Unfortunately many videos out there are just summaries and do not try to redress the problem of poor lecturing during medical shool that leaves students like me looking for a service that will give more in depth lecturing. I would have liked more explanation of concepts, e.g. P values, null hypothesis, etc.

Another excellent series that makes complex material approachable. Great instructor and great charisma. I tell everyone at pa school to use this system to really learn the why's and how's that we occasionally skip.

i liked how clear and straight forward the material is presented! Some topics are a bit brief and could have gone more in depth. I would highly recommend these lectures.

The graph and animiation quality is very bad and confusing some times.

The lecturer explains the concepts very clearly and makes them easy to understand. All that in a minimal amount of time!

This course has taught alot of things I didn't know, as well as highlited things that are obviously High Yield. The teachings are very simplistic and make things easy to understand. This would be a great product for any IMG such as myself.

The professor is going to fast, and the example are not clearly understanding.

It is very good, I like the power point slides and picture etc.

Dr. Wilson is very clear slow enough yet very focused and has concern with the understanding of the learner. He is super and goes to demonstrate as an example that fast-talking is not necessarily better.

Like the way Dr. Wilson teaches, but I wish he will integrate across disciplines like biochemistry, genetics, pathology, and more importantly, pharmacology. I will pay more if that is what it takes.

It helped me understand the concepts. I suggest you to try it too.

The free experience is not similar to the paid experience. I paid for the subscription, but there entire course has only 9 assessment questions -- only in the free videos. Once you pay for Lecturio, it's a lower quality experience. :(

Hello nice lectures but transport mecanism is no where to be found - sodium potassium pump - primary and secondary active transport - simple and facilitated diffusion -voltage gating and chemical (ligand) gating channels

Some topics like ECG could be covered in much more depth. Not really at medical school exam depth

As in most courses in physiology, I think many concepts in this course require more elaborate explanation; probably with simple animations/illustrations that make learning and retention easier.

I would NOT recommend paying money to watch these videos. I went out on a whim and risked it. Unfortunately, it’s just past the ten-day money back clause for me, but I’m not really sweating it. That being said, I would not renew my subscription to continue watching these videos. There are multitudes of other sources out there. The graphics used in these lectures are nice, to be fair, so visual learners might appreciate those. The amount of detail added in is just criminal, however. Integrins, cadherins, gap junctions, MHCs and membrane protein types could all have their own full length lectures, and they are all condensed into one thirty minute video. The entire lecture series on cell biology is only six hours (worth one week of instruction in high school lecture time frame). I know the detail could easily be expanded upon because I took a full-blown cell physiology course in my undergraduate education. While I understand that Lecturio is supplemental and should not be expected to pass for a college course, the simple fact is that these videos do not give you the bang for your buck. I use Lecturio to review for the MCAT, and I do not expect my score will benefit after watching these videos. I’m going to abandon this series now and hope that I can gain some better review in other topics like genetics or A&P while my subscription is still valid.

Greatly enjoyed this series of videos with Prof. Wilson; his explanations are clear, straightforward and explain essential concepts while avoiding some of the more unusual/obscure details that tend to clutter up most textbooks. Particularly enjoyed the section on the Gastrointestinal system, (which I was having a great deal of trouble unravelling), which laid out the different areas in a functional style that was much easier to comprehend. Would enjoy seeing more Physiology videos in the future. I'd recommend these to med-students like myself or to anyone in the allied health professions; (you can always skip some sections if you need less detail).
