Lieutenant General (Rtd) Martin Bricknell is Professor in Conflict, Health and Military Medicine at King’s College London, following a distinguished 34-year career in the UK Defence Medical Services that culminated in his role as the Surgeon General of the UK Armed Forces.
He trained as a general practitioner and is an accredited specialist in both Public Health and Occupational Medicine. During his military service, he undertook operational tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Balkans, and served as a senior Medical Adviser for the NATO ISAF mission.
Professor Bricknell holds two doctorates and three master’s degrees, and has published over 150 academic papers on military medical subjects. His honors include the Companion of the Order of the Bath, the Order of St John, and the US Bronze Star.
Within Lecturio, Professor Bricknell teaches courses on Hospital Management in disaster and conflict scenarios.
