Quiz zum Vortrag

  1. Shotgun sequencing
  2. Clone-by-clone sequencing
  3. Consensus sequencing
  4. STS sequencing
  5. BAC-to-BAC sequencing
  1. Cloning of larger chromosomes and then subcloning them into smaller pieces for sequencing
  2. Cloning of smaller DNA molecules into a plasmid for sequencing
  3. Cloning of viral DNA molecules into a human chromosome for sequencing
  4. Cloning of plasmid DNA molecules into a human chromosome for sequencing
  5. Cloning of bacterial DNA molecules into a human chromosome for sequencing
  1. The shotgun method of sequencing works well with highly repetitive types of DNA molecules.
  2. The whole-genome shotgun method involves the sequencing of overlapping DNA fragments in parallel and assembling small fragments into larger fragments and then into chromosomes by using a computer program.
  3. The whole-genome shotgun method is rapid and straightforward versus the clone-by-clone sequencing method.
  4. Any genome with a lot of repetitive sequences is associated with difficulties during chromosome assembly.
  5. A genome with few repeated regions can be easily and rapidly sequenced using the whole-genome shotgun method.
