Kevin Davies

Professor Kevin Davies is an Emeritus Professor of Nursing and Disaster Healthcare at the University of South Wales, UK.

An emergency-trained nurse and nurse educator, he holds a PhD and MA alongside his nursing qualification, and has accumulated extensive operational experience in conflict and disaster zones across Bosnia, Kenya, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Laos, Ivory Coast, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine, and Hong Kong. His military career included command roles with 144 Para Med Sqn, 203 Field Hospital, and Deputy Command of 160 W Brigade, and he served as Colonel Commandant of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps from 2020 to 2025. Beyond clinical and military service, he has advised governments in the UK, USA, Japan, and Hong Kong on healthcare and emergency management, and spent ten years as a member of the Medical Panel at the HALO Trust.

Professor Davies was appointed a Member of the Royal Red Cross 1st Class in 1997, appointed MBE in 2012, and promoted to Knight of St John in 2025. He served as Queen's Honorary Nurse from 2009 to 2012 and holds the position of Deputy Lieutenant for South Glamorgan.
