Gastrointestinal tract (PUMS - Adv Histology)

I loved Dr Delves lectures! I find them incredibly easy to follow, very clear… he uses his voice to empathize important points, uses fun analogies, sometimes, to explain concepts. What I personally “disliked” is that since I am using his lectures to study for Step 1, it makes me wonder if I really need to know all the details presented in his lectures. It is very interesting and all, but I am pressed for time! I would looove a final summary saying, “this is what you HAVE to know for your exam”. I think doing the quiz questions have helped me extract the most important points in some of the lectures that were so full of “letters and numbers”. But overall, his lectures have made immunology so much more friendly and even amusing!

Very clear and detailed videos. Highly recommended material for med students.

Not much needs to be said, the presentation speaks for itself! Watch for yourself and you'll see how informative this is! The Genetic recombination of B-cells' antibodies and receptors was so hard for me to understand, and all it took was one video (less than 10 minutes) to understand the concept fully. Great professor!

This is a fantastic teacher with great didactic. I would probably take 10 times longer to understand the subject if I were to read about it without prior knowledge.

This lecture series was very well done. The material is relevant, the lecturer's explanations a very clear, and the quiz questions are very well formulated. I have come to expect no less from lecturio.

Lecturio videos helped me study the subject more easily and also helped me in solving mcq questions. But i wish there were more mcq questions after each section.

This is the perfect lecture to understand the complement system in a simple and complete way.

Dr Peter Delves is a very good teacher. The way he organizes his lecture is perfect and animated slides are really helpful for us, visual learner. There are 2 things that application user interface can be improved. 1) finding back one’s own notes is difficult and inconvenient 2) should have email notification or in-app notification when lecturers replied to students’ questions in Q&A box.

I would totally recommend this course to others, I really appreciated it

the lecturer's voice is calm while explaining, but still manages to show enthusiasm, which is good, however i disliked the lecture about the types of PRR as I didn't know what exactly to take from it and it was just a memorization of random 3 lettered words.

The description of the layers of tissue above vs. below the arcuate line has been explained to us in the PA anatomy class, yet remained unclear. After the visuals and the step-by-step walk through in your lecture, finally, I understand! Thank you! :)

This man is obviously very smart but it is seriously painful to listen to ANY of his lectures. His stuttering is way to distracting.

Dr. Pickering walks through each piece of parietal and visceral peritoneal pleura and makes it so much easier to understand. Great video!

When you touched on leukocyte migration, you began at the stage of "adhesion" when many medical students should include the first two steps before this. It should include Margination, where leukocytes follow lamina flow while being pushed by erythrocytes onto the barriers of the endothelial cells, then rolling, where selectin proteins are adhesion molecules which weakly attach onto these leukocytes causing them to "roll" .... and then do i believe you should be able to talk about the adhesion and transmigration parts. If you could add this in, it would be quite useful. especially because many students are trusting these lecture to have the utmost information. Thank you very much. When you spoke on the topic itself though, it was quite organised and detailed.

This has been really helpful towards my understanding of immunological concepts. I have learned more in a week with Dr. Delves' lectures than with my immunology professor at my university.

The lectures were understandable and well organized presentation. Though few questions were asked, it help students recall things that had been thought. Furthermore, the presentation is separated into regions and it doesn't confuse the students.

A very concise lecture but too much so. I was really hoping to learn more about mechanisms and detail. For example, there was no detail provided about the mechanisms involved with how vascular permeability increases. There was no explanation for what cells produce bradykinin and how this causes vasodilation. This was not advanced enough for medical school.

Outstanding breakdown of the components of the innate immune system and response. The presented organization of the complement system activation was superb. Dr. Delves' presentation made understanding the complexity of this process rather simple.

Some these complements take u on a rollercoaster, for example I don't know where C3d popped from, but overall Dr. Delves is just on top of his game I'll continue to give him a 5

For the slide about the lumbar nerves, only subcostal (T12) is listed. It would be helpful to list other nerves, such as iliohypogastric (T?) and ilioinguinal (T?).

Very Comprehensive lecture and lecture notes, covering a vast area within 3 to 4 mins

good lecture- lost a star because illustrations are in latin. I do appreciate latin is completely acceptable to use in the context of anatomy, but in practice nobody uses latin terms and it feels outdated and counter-productive to learn the latin nomenclature. It would be much easier to follow if everything was in english ; a small point but it did slow me down when following this lecture.

Why am I rating this lecture at all? I had to pause a video just to wrote this review because I was just so grateful that it was broken down so well with the schematic diagram. I was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information in the blood supply and wondering if there was a way i can get it down quickly and have the concept clear in my mind. These schematics are awesome and are saving my medical life right now!!!!

I would say he is one of the best lecturers. His knowledge is absolutely amazing. Everything has been explained so well which I could not find in any texbooks. For example, the function of dendritic cells and it relates to T-cells made me so excited to follow and do not want to stop watching.

I would recommend this course. Hope there are more quiz questions available for optional choices.

Dr. Peter Delves is an amazing lecturer. I wish there were more instructors like him. He is very methodical, starting with rudimentary concepts and building on them at pace that is comfortable for everyone.

I love these courses. I'm only a high school student, preparing to go to medical university. They help me to better understand biology or to be exact, human body. My mother tongue is not English which makes a little bit difficult to understand names in biology for example why T-cells called T-cells. Furthermore what I miss from the lectures are animations sometimes. I know I'm a kid, but animations help to visualize and learn things faster.

This is my favorite professor on Lecture (that I've seen so far). He is enthusiastic and engaging in addition to being clear and concise. I leave each lecture with a clear sense of the material and I love that the videos are short so if I need a review it is easily obtained.

Great content but overwhelming. Too much details on the receptors and molecules got me lost in understanding the overall immune response. I appreciate the enthusiasm in detailing everything but the USMLE is devised to evaluate generalists and not immunologists.

Had been watching so much on this and never understood it.

Great course. Peter really explains the concepts. The genetics can get a bit dry, but when isn't genetics dry.

He took time to present the information. The video on adaptive immune system clarifies the difference between innate and adaptive immune system.

There could be a more logical structure, or, if there is, it could be made clearer. It is difficult to see how the various topics connect.

The lectures are really well organized The 1-2mins introductory lectures before each topic are very helpful in situating the student in case he get lost. The Diagrams are very well picked.

I found these lectures decent, the questions do a good job at reinforcing the material so more questions after each video would be an improvement. Definitely a large topic and its not organized the way my school taught it but it doesn't assume you know or remember everything which is good. I would recommend for the summer before year 2. You could study during commercial breaks while watching tv.

The lecture was a bit of an overview of innate immunity. It was short and fails to cover the epithelial barrier, complement inhibitors, details of TLRs, cytokines, and signal 2 pathways. Still not bad for 40 minutes

I am snd yr medical student. The immunology lecture series is easy to follow and well organized.
