Dozenten des Kurses Year 5 (AMDCM)

 James DeNicco

James DeNicco

Dr. DeNicco graduated from Drexel University in 2013. His primary field is Macroeconomics and his secondary field is Industrial Organization. His primary research interests are in Macroeconomics and applied Macroeconomics, especially the relationship between GDP growth and labor dynamics.

His focus is on jobless recovery, which explores the speed of recovery in unemployment rates post recession, controlling for GDP growth. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Tampa, where he teaches both Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.

Dr. DeNicco also does work as a Research Associate for the Center for Labor Markets and Policy. In that role he has conducted extensive work with BLS and BEA data regarding estimation and forecasting techniques used by the Massachusetts Governor’s Office and the Rhode Island Department of Labor.

In addition, he collaborates on research identifying the determinants of successful transitions from high school to college and persistence in college, with the goal of identifying major transition barriers needing either program or policy intervention.

 Jeremy Brown, PhD

Jeremy Brown, PhD

Professor Jeremy Brown is a clinician scientist with an interest in respiratory infection. He studied medicine in London, graduating with honors, and continued his postgraduate medical training in a variety of London hospitals.
He completed his PhD in molecular microbiology in 1999 and obtained a prestigious Welcome Advanced Research Fellowship for further scientific training at the University of Adelaide. His research is mainly focused on respiratory complications of haematological disease and stem cell transplantation.
His educational and scientific experience enables him to teach students and professionals about respiratory medicine.

 Brian Warriner, MD

Brian Warriner, MD

Dr. Brian Warriner has been an active clinician and teacher in the UBC Faculty of Medicine and has published in the anesthesia and medical literature. He received his MD from UBC and – in 2009 – the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society Clinical Practitioner Award. Additionally, he was the Head of the UBC Department of Anesthesia from January 2002 until 2005 and the merged Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, UBC Faculty of Medicine.

He has traveled to Uganda in the last 5 years, volunteering and helping in the operating room at Mulago Hospital and with the medical teaching at Makerere University. Currently he operates as a health system accreditor/surveyor for Accreditation Canada.

Dr. Warriner’s research has been focused on the use of blood substitutes in surgical patients, the value of pre-operative beta blockers, the reversal of muscle relaxants and the prevention of post-operative nausea and vomiting.

 Dan O'Connor

Dan O'Connor

Dan O'Connor has been delivering tactical communication programs to businesses, governmental entities and individuals for over 15 years. The results from Dan's online communication training program and YouTube training videos are measurable in the responses of students and subscribers that he has helped create a personal compass for both personal and professional growth. One of the key aspects of his success is the emphasis on practical, dayto-day communication solutions for the stressful situations with which we all live.

Dan's books, Say This not That! and Energy Vampire Slaying: 101, are devoted to helping readers find the right words for the right situations, and to giving people an arsenal of techniques and scripts (and attitudes!) for handling even the most challenging communication situations. Dan's goal in training is simple: to deliver immediately usable communication training tactics with authenticity, energy, and clarity, so participants actually have fun while learning. After taking his courses, you will agree: learning does not have to be boring to be effective; in truth, learning that is fun is more effective.
 Carlo Raj, MD

Carlo Raj, MD

You probably know MD Edward Goljan and his Rapid Review Pathology Series. But do you know the "new" Goljan? His name is Carlo Raj and he is currently following his mentor's footsteps by presenting you pathology as you have never experienced before.

Carlo Raj has earned his MD at the Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and continued his medical career as international lecturer and author—both assisting MD Edward Goljan and later on his own. Today he is CEO of Indus Intellect, whose goal it is to spread medical knowledge across the globe.

 John Fisher, MD

John Fisher, MD

Dr. Fisher is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Medicine and Infectious Diseases. In his 30 years on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia he has received 58 teaching awards. He has been recognized regionally by the American College of Physicians for his educational skills with the Annual J. Willis Hurst Teaching Award and nationally by the Infectious Diseases Society of America's Clinical Teacher Award. In April of 2015 he received the Jane F.
