Good lecture overall. Downloadable slide materials do not contain all slides and need to be updated (I note this issue was raised by another commenter 3 years ago and responded to indicating it was fixed at that time although the issue persists currently), a few mis-spoken moments need either an audio re-record or an on-screen note (3:1 type 1 2nd degree block first described as 3:4, then as 2:1)

Dr. Raj is very good. He is a bit fast and I sometime have a difficult time to clearly hear him. von Alaena A. am 08. Oktober 2021 für Benign Liver Disease: Hepatic Steatosis, Cavernous Hemangioma and Hepatic Cyst
organization of the MRI section is confusing. It would have been better to show the definitions and the pictures at the same time...instead of using terms not previously introduced...and then switching to the definitions, but now the viewer can't see the image which demonstrates the terms. Instead, I had to look up the terms on my own and then I could better understand the lecture. I also had to spend time going back and forth with the slides and transcript/video to better understand. In short, the organization of this section could have been done better.

Definition for T1 and T2 is problematic and misleading.
von Alaena A. am 02. Oktober 2021 für Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Slide 9 is problematic, specifically for the explanation of T2. "Perpendicular" is not a very good term. There is no aforementioned information that would help explain what T2 is that is given in this lecture. What should have been said if this was to be avoided would be, "Beyond the scope of this lecture".

He cannot teach
von Malakamir M. am 04. September 2021 für Respiratory Tract Infections: Introduction
If we compare his lectures with others’, we can find that as if there is a text in front of him and he read it simply. With all respect, his accent is not very comprehensive or I am not familiar with it. I have to read the subtitles to understand what he said. Secondly, there is not any exam question type or cases. If he explained the topics through some developing questions, I think it was better.

von Yiğit Kağan A. am 26. August 2021 für Arrhythmias: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
Dr. Raj is my fav lecturer on here without a doubt. He's teaching excellently. I really am angry towards morons who have suboptimal Iq for med school and make comments about how Dr. Raj is bad lol. I wish all lecturers were like Dr. Raj, to be honest. I really don't like to see lecturers who try to simplify as much as possible. They're teaching like you're an idiot. It's not really unfortunate that people who have suboptimal Iqs don't love Dr. Raj which is fine BUT please don't try to remove Dr. Raj lectures and replace the old lectures.

Dr. Raj is an excellent teacher. He makes me wanna study more and I'm looking forward to listen to his lectures. I think he's one of the best in lecture and most definitely my favourite teacher thus far. Cardiology is hard to understand for stupid people no matter how hard he tries to simplify. I understand why other people don't like him. They want plain lectures where the lecturer reads slides only. Medicine is not for dummies fellas.

von Yi?it Ka?an A. am 14. August 2021 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
The best thing about Dr Raj is that his way of teaching is very dynamic and this keeps you in the lecture and makes you stay focused during the lecture. He is an excellent guy. I don't like plain and simple lectures, they are very boring. Also after I listened to his lectures, I don't just memorize, I learn.
Best regards
Bad language, bad graphical representation
von Marco-Aurelio D. am 13. August 2021 für Systolic Dysfunction
I have to repeat everything he says three times because of his way of expressing himself, I don't mean the accent, thats fine, but how he puts his sentences together for explaining something is confusing. This is being made way worse by the graphics and the fact that he can't point at what he actually means while he explains it. Also there is no legend to the curves that he explains.

The technical explanations leave something to be desired of. There are some mistakes, and a lot of omitted material that would have been great to include. Integration of basic knowledge and understanding
von Barbara E J. am 09. Januar 2021 für Arrhythmias: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
Whereas I was at first put off a bit by Dr. Raj's style of teaching, I became more and more appreciative of his pedagogic method, soliciting and emphasizing the integration of basic physiology, pharmacology and anatomy in understanding and treating (the pathology underlying) clinical syndromes (of the multiple organ systems). Indeed, the process becomes very stimulating and ultimately satisfying as one becomes able to retrieve and integrate all the basic knowledge in solving clinical diagnosis and treatment.
Thankful for the lessons and the format.

Dr Raj Thank you! Hypertension is nice!
von OKWIR A. am 25. Dezember 2020 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
I have really been enjoying Hypertension course, in particular the Pathophys!
It has been answering my previous dilemmas in the topic. For example, this 49 yo male diagnosed with HTN 2 yrs ago, previously had no chronic illness, was screened negative for Diabetes. His GP initiated him on Captopril and Bendrofluethiazide , now currently on Captopril 25 mg BD and Bendrofluethiazide 5mg, but his average BP has ever been around 152/100 mmHg. He has been struggling with weight control (BMI 31 or slightly above). I have been contemplating it is not a good control, and 2 days ago he called me complaining of visual impairment both eyes! Now I am thinking of Secondary HTN with Atherosclerosis as a Differential , oh again and a need for complete eye exam including Fondoscopy, again thinking ECG, Lipid panel and Renal Function test would be beneficial!. He have never done these tests because of affordability issue. ALL THE THOUGHT ABOVE COMES FROM MY CURRENT HYPERTENSION COURSE. BUT MOSTLY AN OPPORTUNITY OF FREE ACCESS TO PREMIUM CONTENT! HOW I PRAY GOD HELP ME SO THAT I PAY BACK TO MY COMMUNITY! I forever grateful please,
Receive my kind and warm regards this Special day!

Dr. Raj's teaching method
von keivan t. am 04. Oktober 2020 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
I do not have a major problem with the material he teaches, although sometimes he just points out to the facts and skips explanations. My major issue is with the overall demeanor of Dr. Raj while he is teaching. He tries to come across as someone cool and the George Clooney of the lecturio and it's very annoying and distracting. At least for me. For those who haven't noticed, look at his facial expression when delivering a lecture. I wish he would just lecture plane and simple without resorting to " hey you know I'm cool, right?". I try not to look at him and just stare at the slides to minimize this effect.
Awesome!!

It's very clear, and the videos are just the right amount of time to retain focus. Nice course
von Anne V. am 20. April 2020 für Introduction to Imaging
Very clear, professor explains everything very well. I would have liked the quiz questions to be a little less detailed. It's not very useful for me to remember the exact type of technetium-99 used for each different type of test. However, this might not be as much the fault of this course as well as a feature lacking in lecturio (to remove certain quiz questions if they are not relevant for you).
Very good
von Anne V. am 20. April 2020 für Thoracic Radiology

Great lecture as always, but could be improved with more depth into the morphology of how the QRS complexes can be either narrow or wide depending on the site of the block.
Could also be improved through:
- A list of specific symptoms a patient with the condition would experience
- ECG interpretation in the quiz section

Absolutely high yield in hospital medicine. Often in hospital emergency department would find you can make a DKA dx with history and physical with the lab tests confirming the suspicion. This is an extremely valuable review and high-yield information for anybody working in hospital. Know how to treat and manage DKA upon admission, firstly the fluids and insulin. The rest you can learn or review within a few minutes of recognition. But have to recognize immediately to treat your patient.

Excellent course, I highly recommend it
von Jean-François E. am 27. Oktober 2019 für Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation
Useful for all medical students from novices just starting to learn how to interpret ECGs to final year students in most rotations (e.g. ER).
Dr. Alpert is a great instructor, one of my favourite on Lecturio.
Once again, Lecturio provides a high quality course that I consider more useful than the classes I got in actual medical school.
I would also enjoy a second, more advanced course on ECG interpretation. It could cover emergent care ECG findings (e.g. should you call the cath lab, should you start heparin, should you give x or y drug, etc.), ECG findings from chronic or acute pulmonary diseases (e.g. cor pulmonale, PE, etc.) and less common findings (e.g. ST elevation from Brugada Syndrome). The more vignettes and ECGs to interpret, the better it would be!
Thank you.

Excellent lectures. If you could add on some lectures on radiography for head and neck region and CBCT for head especially maxilla and mandible, that would have been great.
Great
von sarnor_friends@yahoo.com M. am 12. November 2017 für Pulmonary Diagnostics
Very clear explantation. Realy, organized my way of thinking and approach to cases.
Cocise, engaging, high learnability index
von Nnamno E. am 03. November 2017 für Algorithm of Acute Renal Injury
Lecturio is a solid and highly efficient learning Platform. Dr. Raj is a seasoned communicator, and has just the right balance of serious professional demeanor, clarity of speech and concepts, and good humor you want in a Teacher. This lecture, like the others I’ve watched so far, is excellent stuff!
I don´t understand exactly the difference between IFC and EFC concentration
von Gustavo S. am 29. Oktober 2017 für Extracellular Fluid (ECF) and Intracellular Fluid (ICF): Plasma Osmolality (POsm)
I understand, but I think, the lesson needs drawings and diagrams, but is very well, thanks
Outstanding
von Mikholae H. am 28. Oktober 2017 für Second Degree Heart Block
Very much appreciate his teaching style, but does stray some at times.
concise information
von Geovannia G. am 27. Oktober 2017 für Arrhythmias: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
I like this video becaus of concise explanation on etiology, patho and Treatment
Relax
von Tracey H. am 21. Oktober 2017 für Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone-System
It would be nice if the material was presented in a less intense manner. It feels more like he is prepping football players for a big game. It is very distracting. Perhaps, if the lecture didn't feel so choppy it would be more enjoyable.
Definitely 5 stats!
von Dr Jerry G. am 09. Oktober 2017 für Thoracic Radiology
1. Dr Verma is very knowledgeable, professional and desses very well.
2. Her presentations are very ilustrative, concise, substantial and in clear American English.
3. Very easy to understand, you don’t get bored and want to learn more.
4. Every lecture has quizzes that help you to reinforce your knowledge and will help you
remember all the lecture for a long time.
5. I learned so much in so little time!

Good overall
von Amina R. am 06. Oktober 2017 für Chest Abnormalities in Pediatric Radiology
Good overview, hits on most important images. More detail about physiology behind why images present as such would have been good.

Radiology has never been so easy to understand!!!! thank you very much
Oral Phase of Swallow
von Torsten D. am 30. September 2017 für Oropharyngeal Dysphagia
There are many more symptoms of oropharyngeal dysphagia than those mentioned (e.g. increased chewing time, inability to form bolus etc.). Also, referral to speech pathology would provide additional insight into the patient's dysphagia.
I liked it
von Andre K. am 29. September 2017 für Arrhythmias: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj

von Nguyen Thanh T. am 23. September 2017 für Thoracic Radiology
I love to watch her lectures. She is so great. Her voice, her syle are so professional. I recommend this course to all Med students!
Dont leave interaction!!!!
von Vivian D. am 19. September 2017 für Pediatric Radiology
This course well explained, but it was less interactive when compared to the others given by herself. That is why I cannot assign a 5 star.
Overal good but a little bit of more detail would be more helpfull!!
von bnorn l. am 14. September 2017 für Basics of Radiology and Computed Tomography (CT)
Overal good resource. But i think it could be a little bit more detailed to be really usefull for medical school.
Super helpful!
von Sarah I. am 12. September 2017 für Iron Deficiency Anemia: Iron Studies
Dr. Raj is really funny and makes the lecture engaging. His thought process is very logical, and it helps me really remember some of these more complicated concepts.
loose time
von Ovidiu - Alina S. am 10. September 2017 für Chest Abnormalities in Pediatric Radiology
she reads everything from the slides ....her courses are really boring
I almost went to sleep
von Silviu S. am 10. September 2017 für Introduction to Imaging
great job
von Tammie R. am 05. September 2017 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj

Great videos.. helped me understand this topic so well
von Tayssir Z. am 01. September 2017 für Fluid and Electrolyte Balance
It needs more clinical correlation with diseases in the IV fluids
For example, when to use normal saline or when to use dextrose this will make our understanding better

Informative lecture
von Catherine M. am 28. August 2017 für Thoracic Radiology
Wow, this is so informative! I never expected to learn the relevance and all the info presented in an engaging and comprehensive manner. I only wish that the interface for taking notes could be made a bit more accessible though to learners. Other than that, I enjoyed the lecture very much.

Very funny the way that he explains everything, make difficult concept very much easy to understand and with high yield information!!!
There is a minor mistake
von Esi D. am 09. August 2017 für Metabolic Acidosis & Alkalosis
On the slide about respiratory compensation for metabolic acidosis, the compensation slope with decrease Pco2 level has a PCO2 value of 60 which should be 20.
Becauase in respiratory Compensation for MA PCO2 slightly decreases
That is just a typo, but can been confusing
The lecture itself is very good
Spinal imaging
von Mariet G. am 02. August 2017 für Non-Traumatic Abnormalities of the Spine
All the needed information in a nutshell. To assess for spinal pathology "the Winking owl sign" can also be added. It is usually a sign of bone metastasis.
To the point!
von Vivian D. am 02. August 2017 für Introduction to Imaging
Radiology can be challenging and overwhelming for a medical student. First and second year, radiology is mostly overlooked. However, it is very necessary for the third year on a daily basis. Dr. Verma delivered an easy to understand and concise introduction to the course.

T1&T2 Weighted imaging needs work
von George L. am 12. Juli 2017 für Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Explanation of the T1 & T2 Terminology and how it works is lacking.
Could have used way more slides to visualize this: MRI in Practice by C. Westbrook et al show how this can be done in Chapter 1.
Important concepts which need to be properly explained, in this video it looks like it has been half heartedly done.
AMAZING ABDOMINAL RADILOGY

von iutzi o. am 10. Juli 2017 für Renal Tubular Acidosis: Types & Acid-Base Summary
I loved the whole course! I finally could understand a topic that is so frustrating for me to understand and also remember in time! Dr Tad is an awesome lecturer! I lo ve the way he explains everything
It's a great review of things!
von Anthony M. am 09. Juli 2017 für Thoracic Radiology
The thing that would make it GREAT (versus just very good) would be using effects on the PowerPoint or video to outline things on the imaging.
It's done a FEW times, but mainly just has a circle around an area or mouse hovering which works okay, but there's multiple times where even if there's a circle around it, I literally have no idea what I'm supposed to be recognizing. I can't make it out at all, even if replaying and pausing and staring.
It would greatly accelerate things, in my opinion (and doable bc it's done a few times...either outlining or highlighting)
THORAXIC RADIOLOGY IMPROVED MY PRACTICE.

Excellent intro course in thoracic rad
von Dave L. am 08. Juli 2017 für Thoracic Radiology
Especially as an intro course this was excellent. Dr Verma has a great tonality to her voice and it makes it very easy to listen to her
The video has some areas of concern where we can't actually see what she is pointing out about but after 30++ years of surgery I understood what she was suggesting. Rookie students will have some difficulty but this is not intended to replace medical school so excellent work
Dr Dave
Excellent
von Young Tsatsu T. am 07. Juli 2017 für Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

A good start
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) Bleeding: Examination & Diagnosis
I think it would be worthwhile to also focus on upper gi bleeding as well. Also It would extremely handy to learn about working up a patients with suspected GI, ie what investigations you would do first. Toronotes Notes has a wonderful flow chart in the Gastrointestinal chapter
Excellent work
von Muhammad Muzaffar H. am 23. März 2017 für Heart Failure: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj

How do we treat this?
von Hamed S. am 15. März 2017 für Portal Hypertension
Good way of classifying the causes but missed out on defining the pressure (>5 mmHg) and potential treatment options such as propranolol, TIPS etc....
Also what about the potential complications, which would have been perfect to discuss here ie variceal bleeds
What about Focal Nodular Hyperplasia
von Hamed S. am 15. März 2017 für Benign Liver Tumors
Missed another important benign tumour of the liver that would have been worthwhile covering
What about other drugs?
von Hamed S. am 15. März 2017 für Drug-Induced Liver Disease & Acetaminophen Toxicity
It would have been great to list the most common agents that could potentially lead to liver toxicity aside from paracetamol, incl phenytoin, statins, amiodarone, methotrexate. Also not sure if this would be discussed in the Emergency Medicine talks but actually working up the patient and what to do from a monitoring point of view once a diagnosis of paracetamol overdose would have been really helpful. It would have been worth noting that acetylcysteine most efficacious within 8 to 10 hours after ingestion of paracetamol.
IV alpha1-antiprotease
von Hamed S. am 15. März 2017 für Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency: Diagnosis
It would have been good to discuss the use IV arantiprotease for the management of this condition. Moreover a little bit of discussion about the genetics of this conditions how it influences the disease presentation and natural history.
Follow up?
von Hamed S. am 08. März 2017 für Barrett's Esophagus
No mention of ongoing follow up and grades of barrett's
Could have used slighlty more detail
von Rhys A. am 06. März 2017 für Renal Tubular Acidosis: Types & Acid-Base Summary
Good lecturer, though compared to common youtube lectures, most of the material is covered too superficially to really retain much, although the gnome chart was helpful for myself. Future lectures could give just a bit more detail to help the bigger picture ideas stick.
von Jennifer O. am 27. Februar 2017 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
The questions were a little easier than what is normally asked. Though the hyperlipidemia lecture was excellent.
Update for new sGLT2 inhibitors
von Hamed S. am 25. Februar 2017 für Retired - Oral Agents for Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 – Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus

von Bessie S. am 15. Dezember 2016 für Respiratory Acidosis & Alkalosis
Dr. Wilson does an excellent job in breaking down concepts of acid-base balance in the body and making it plain. He also provides some additional tricks/tools that you may not get in your regular lectures, but will definitely help on an exam. These lectures are top notch, just excellent!
