The Brain: Functional Systems (EN) (release in progress)
Von Dr. Dr. Damir del Monte (2)
After the basics of neurohistology, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, this section introduces functional systems of the brain. From the clear-cut functional systems, such as perception, motor function, to the widely distributed evaluative instances of the limbic system and the world of emotions, to higher-level concepts, such as the "complexity of the brain" or the "neurobiology of personality", this lecture series will take you through the complex and exciting spheres of cerebral organisation and function. This exciting journey is demanding, because the brain is — to speak with Damir del Monte — not simply a machine for the implementation of environmental stimuli, but a living organ that, in interaction with the entire body and the environment, enables an adequate comprehension of the world and an adapted behaviour that serves life. The complexity of the contents is captured through systematics and great clarity and is transformed into a learning pleasure through the lively and lifelike way of presentation. This course will be completed soon.
