Downloadable slide materials do not contain all slides and need to be updated (I note this issue was raised by another commenter 3 years ago and responded to indicating it was fixed at that time although the issue persists currently), a few mis-spoken moments need either an audio re-record or an on-screen note (3:1 type 1 2nd degree block first described as 3:4, then as 2:1)

von Bruno F. am 15. August 2023 für Mitral Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation – Valvular Heart Disease
This lesson was very poorly organized and somewhat confusing. The content was exposed in what appears to be an arbitrary order and no logical connection was present. Nonsurgical therapy is mentioned on the slides but was not explained in the lesson

von Ali J. am 19. Mai 2023 für Mitral Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation – Valvular Heart Disease
This lecture lacks depth and does not cover the conditions in depth (e.g. physical findings, acute vs chronic pictures, etc). It's under cardiology, so I do not understand why it feels like an introduction only.
Lack of depth.
von Ali J. am 19. Mai 2023 für Aortic Regurgitation – Valvular Heart Disease
You only mentioned valvular defects leading to aortic regurgitation what about the aortic root defects? This lecture lacks so much more knowledge that we must know both for medical school exams and the USMLEs. For instance, where are the physical findings associated AR? The diastolic descrescendo murmur, wide pulse pressure, and S3 heart sound. The specific pulse patterns such as, Corrigan's pulse, water hammer, or pistol shot pulse patterns. How are patients with aortic regurgitation treated and etc? I've been seeing so much lack of consistency with lectures on lecturio recently.
Excellent professor.
von Ali J. am 18. Mai 2023 für Aortic Stenosis – Valvular Heart Disease

Lecturio displays a concise presentation of the most relevant aspects of a wide variety of subjects. Videos contain images for illustration and better understanding as well as quiz questions. Lectures are high-yield and seldom need supplementation of information. Fit for USMLE and PLAB, and offers good value for money - there’s so much to like.
There’s however, the lack of clarity of images on a paused screen and only about 20% of the content is currently free.

Excellent content, but it can be improved
von Zuleica Citlalli E. am 22. Juli 2021 für Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
The content is amazing, the videos are short and high yield
Things I'd change:
1. Add a refresh of physiology on the different disease explanations
2. Dosing protocols on the treatment videos
3. A more protocolized approach regarding diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
For example: Diabetes, how do you diagnose it, how do you treat it (with the most common treatment modalities), special considerations of the treatment (insulin regime choosing and dosing) and lastly what paraclinical aids we can use to confirm or rule out the disease we think and its complications (where applicable: Ej: creatinine in diabetes to rule out kidney failure)

Anyway I really recommend it to anyone in love with science, particularly medical knowledge. Thanks to the team that made the lectures interesting!
More importantly, thanks for the 7 days access, I could not afford to pay. I humbled and indebted by the kind hearts!

von Dr Glenn G. am 06. Februar 2021 für Diabetes Mellitus
The lectures are very well presented and practical. The case studies are depictions of real clinical interactions that we see on a regular basis. Although I may disagree on some progressions, it's nice that my voice has been acknowledged. With any medical program, there's always going to be a variety of viewpoints and it's important that we are able to recognize all possible interventions. Overall, I do like the Lecturio format. von Renan A. am 01. Dezember 2020 für Cardiac Diseases
Dr. Alpert is no doubt a great professor and explain things in a very academic way. However, I do not appreciate the misconceptions he has about medical practice abroad. He makes the sophomoric mistake of comparing the absent health system in the US to western Europe efficient and fair health system. On the other hand he implies with old data that Latin American systems are not good.

These chapters contain sufficient nephrologic medical information. I think it’s quite estimable and estimable.
I really think the ECG lectures are very stimulating and eye-opening
von Rachael K. am 12. Oktober 2020 für Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation
I found the lectures to be. Very helpful and it helped me develop a great attitude towards the ECG
I would definitely recommend it to my colleagues
I think Dr Joseph Alpert should speak slow ly in some of the sections to allow one grasp the concept
Muy bueno
von Gustavo S. am 08. Oktober 2020 für Nephritic Syndrome
Me parece muy bueno utilizar casos clínicos para explicar la enfermedad, porque de esa forma se integra el conocimiento
Good lecture
von Jalil Z. am 07. Oktober 2020 für Tachyarrhythmias (Tachycardia): Treatment
Brilliant. Once again the view from afar gives a clearer understanding of the whole topic. What I did not understand are the indication for Beta-blockers, Digoxin and Flecainide. Thank you!
Excellent lecture as usual
von Jalil Z. am 07. Oktober 2020 für Tachyarrhythmias (Tachycardia): Definition
I understand the comment of the previous student. However, I think the goal of these lectures is to give the appropriate knowledge to use as a resident. It's not really important to know more details about it. When a patient has a tachycardia, it's important to know if it's physiologic or pathologic and the cause of it. So the lecture helps to determine the physical origin which helps to point to the cause. Thank you!
Excellent lecture as usual
von Jalil Z. am 07. Oktober 2020 für Bradycardia (Slow Heart Rate)
These are the best explanations regarding bradycardia that I heard of. I would have liked to hear more about other drugs that could cause bradycardia though. That being said, I think that now I cannot forget the different blocks. So thank you very much! Also cool that the case of neonatal bradycardia is talked about.
Excellent lecture as usual
von Jalil Z. am 06. Oktober 2020 für Pericarditis
Excellent lecture as usual. I would have liked an explanation on why the pain is relieved when the patient is leaning forward in pericarditis. I liked the emphasis on the overlap between myocarditis and pericarditis. Thank you!

Excellent lecture as usual
von Jalil Z. am 06. Oktober 2020 für Acquired Myocarditis
Excellent lecture as usual. I would have liked to see the epidemiology (and mortality) but the info concerning the ethology and clinical presentation is enough to raise the suspicion of myocarditis in a sick child.
Excellent lecture!
von Jalil Z. am 06. Oktober 2020 für Infective Endocarditis (IE)
Excellent lecture as usual. I particularly appreciated to have the epidemiology and the clinical differences between the different organisms.

von Jalil Z. am 05. Oktober 2020 für Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)
This lecture made once again a complex topic seems a simpler one. I understand the teacher removes as many numbers as possible and I appreciate it. However, I would have like for this chapter a bit more statistics regarding prevalence. Thank you!
Excellent lecture!
von Jalil Z. am 05. Oktober 2020 für Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)
I think it's an excellent lecture. However, I do agree with another member, I would have liked to see for these diseases the prevalence number of the diseases. Otherwise I think the relevant information to think about the disease is in the lecture.
Excellent lecture!

Lecturio I think lives up to its billing as ‘Medflix’. I really think it’s worth the money. Sometimes I find myself binging.
However, I would love to see more animations added to facilitate comprehension and retention.

von Tammy H. am 20. Juni 2020 für Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Dr. Sussman is an excellent educator. She is well versed, knowledgeable, and methodical. I have no problems following her lectures and wish she did the entire nephrology series. My learning on nephrology has increased exponentially by listening to her lectures. She has a passion for teaching and wanting listeners to understand the process and concepts, instead of just rote memory.

Not satisfactory
von Noah S. am 04. Januar 2020 für OCD: Types, Assessment and Treatment
I gave this rating due to the fact that the lecturer reads from the slides and often gets sidetracked from actually explaining the material. This gives the impression that there is a very poor understanding of the material being taught as it simply does not flow naturally.
The slides are somewhat descriptive and that makes this series passable.

No elaboration or explanation beyond what's written on the slides behind the speaker
von Mohamad-Hadi E. am 11. Dezember 2019 für General Surgery
not only in general surgery but also in the internal medicine modules, the speaker only reads the slides without providing any further insight into the topic or even explaining things mentioned on the slides. the speakers obviously are reading off of prompters and are not ready for presenting the topics. Dr Raj, in all internal medicine modules that i've watched so far, does a lot of mistakes and provide several erroneous information that is in addition to his analogies that fall way far from the tree! Sorry but that is my honest opinion.
Clear Definitions
von Taylor T. am 10. Dezember 2019 für Psychosis, Delusions and Hallucinations

von Kelly P. am 05. November 2019 für Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident)
I watched it to reinforce and know a little bit more about stroke besides the information that I already read in books or articles, because in lecturio I got more facts that I don't find anywhere else. And I would recommend it to my friends in med school since you can watch the videos or answer the quiz before you read about some topic or after, so you feel sure about what you know.
Very Useful Cardiovascular Review
von Stephen H. am 04. November 2019 für Cardiovascular Cases

Fantastic lectures!
von Vijay Bharadwaj S. am 01. November 2019 für Neonatology (Newborn Medicine)
I like Dr. Alverson's lectures. They are simple to understand and follow. And most importantly the videos are short and easy to pay attention and revise. A few things that I would recommend is that if the lectures could include more clinical approach points and prognostic information, it would be great. Thank you Lecturio, you guys are doing a great job.

von Jean-François E. am 27. Oktober 2019 für Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation
Useful for all medical students from novices just starting to learn how to interpret ECGs to final year students in most rotations (e.g. ER).
Dr. Alpert is a great instructor, one of my favourite on Lecturio.
Once again, Lecturio provides a high quality course that I consider more useful than the classes I got in actual medical school.
I would also enjoy a second, more advanced course on ECG interpretation. It could cover emergent care ECG findings (e.g. should you call the cath lab, should you start heparin, should you give x or y drug, etc.), ECG findings from chronic or acute pulmonary diseases (e.g. cor pulmonale, PE, etc.) and less common findings (e.g. ST elevation from Brugada Syndrome). The more vignettes and ECGs to interpret, the better it would be!
Thank you.

von Glen C. am 15. Juni 2019 für Cardiac Diseases
Dr. Alpert is a very good presenter, but a little rushed and stiff, clearly not a medium he is comfortable with. Again, look for higher production value, I can get talking head slide shows from my school. Think 2D or 3D animation. This is great for the heart because it moves it does things. I have Netter, use it all the time. Show me tha SA-AV conduction path in 2D rotations, static and while the heart is beating. Make the POV an RBC and ride the currents through the heart, the lungs. Also, great for the congenital malformations. Show me a tet heart in motion, with flow lines , then show me that on U/S or ECG. And show me a patient with the condition. Step 2 isn't about the science factoids, it is about the clinical art, that means patients.
Keep up the good work! =)

This course delivered a lot of information and useful techniques with regards to the analysis of CSF to determine the cause of meningitis and the rundown of most of the clinical presentations of these disorders. I also enjoyed having the summary at the end of each video to give an overview to each condition and the main points to remember about each.
The actual pathophysiological teaching leaves much to be desired as do the slides themselves. Dr Raj is good at delivering things in an interesting way when he has the right slides. These ones are just text most of the time which makes things much less interesting. This was a good lecture. I am trying to take all of the Free Classes offered by Lecturio, so as to improve my own health. I appreciate this lecture, because it is offered by an instructor who has a real medical background. It is very easy to follow Dr. Helen Farrell's line of reasoning. The main points are also fairly easy for me to follow on the screen, because you provide these lecture notes to the student. The quiz helps me to see how well I grasp the information you explain in the lecture. Thank you so much for this offer.

von Neuer N. am 23. Februar 2018 für Acute Bacterial Meningitis: Predisposing Factor Age
Tons of mistakes in what seems to be all fields of Lecturio videos. It's a shame really. This one in particular goes on about the "virus" H. Influenzae. It's just tons of basic stuff that they really mess up. I wouldn't even use this as a free resource honestly.
consice and applicable
von Leesa P. am 22. Februar 2018 für Psychiatry
The presentations were informative, easy to understand and remember. It is also immediately applicable, and the clinical relevance is portrayed in her examples.
It's good that we can adjust the speed of the video, as I feel like I hear her in slow motion at normal speed... however, I usually speed up all videos, regardless of who's presenting it.
Minor mistake but excellent nonetheless
von Glen K. am 22. Februar 2018 für Acute Bacterial Meningitis: Predisposing Factor Head Trauma
Despite that Dr. Raj inaccurately recognized H. influenzae as a virus (which is actually a G(-) bacterium), he did a good job of engaging students in thinking and reflecting, while pointing out a general memory-aiding scheme ( e.g. common skin flora species being implicated in post-neurosurgery/penetrating trauma/CSF-associated meningitides)
Having watched many of Dr Raj's videos (a med-student with high standards myself and always hateful of lackadaisical teaching styles of the MAJORITY of professors in my country), I have to say Dr. Raj exhibits excellent "mentor" qualities in a style of his own.
Very helpful

Great course, questions could do with reviewing.
von Zara T. am 09. Januar 2018 für Cardiac Diseases
A very good course, quite thorough! Since this course is also recommended for MBBS students (typically a British degree), it may be worth including some of the NICE guidelines when it comes to treatment as that is what our med school exams are based on.
Additionally, the questions in this course aren't very challenging and honestly a little weak - not really at exam level more like a "let's check if you listening quiz".
Overall, a very helpful review though.

Lecturio is a great supplement to other educational resources. The videos are high quality. Dr. Alpert does a great job presenting the information (nice pace, speaks well), the videos are accessible from anywhere, & I would recommend them as a great supplemental medical source. I'm actually a pharmacist who was looking to get a more detailed medical picture on disease states & therapeutic management. I'm lucky to have stumbled on to Lecturio. It allows me to see the whole picture the way an M.D. looks at it and it's easier to retain information when you see it vs. reading it. Highly recommend it for all healthcare professionals.

Lumbar Nerves
von Astrocyte C. am 19. Oktober 2017 für Somatic Nerves – Posterior Abdominal Wall

Not even close to being sufficient
von Una E. am 17. Oktober 2017 für CNS Infections - Clinical Neurology
I work as an MD at the neurology department at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen. I was looking for inspiration before I was supposed to do a lecture on CNS infections myself, for the medical students and young doctors at the department. Your lectures are not even close to being good enough or sufficient - there are WAY to many details left out, plus, explanations and clinical relevance is almost none. I couldn't use it at least, and had to dig deeper in my old books and in other lectures. Moreover, I don't get the way the lecturer speaks... he pronounces some words with a weird emphasis on specific words - making you almost feel stupid...

good lecture overall
von Edward K. am 27. August 2017 für Inguinal Canal – Abdominal Walls and Inguinal Canal
good lecture- lost a star because illustrations are in latin. I do appreciate latin is completely acceptable to use in the context of anatomy, but in practice nobody uses latin terms and it feels outdated and counter-productive to learn the latin nomenclature.
It would be much easier to follow if everything was in english ; a small point but it did slow me down when following this lecture.

von Oluwatomi A. am 22. August 2017 für Inferior Mesenteric Artery – Arterial Supply to the GI Tract
Why am I rating this lecture at all?
I had to pause a video just to wrote this review because I was just so grateful that it was broken down so well with the schematic diagram. I was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information in the blood supply and wondering if there was a way i can get it down quickly and have the concept clear in my mind.
These schematics are awesome and are saving my medical life right now!!!!

von omri p. am 21. Mai 2017 für Cardiac Diseases
Dr Alpert, a well respected figure in cardiogy, narrates this course in an enjoyable, highly professional way.
The 30 to 40 minutes sessions are, to my opinion, much more academic then some of the 2-3 min based lectures.
I do want to point out that only by chance i have found the course as it lacks paradoxically from the clinical curriculum.
That said, i would love to hear more of his talks and know more of this critical discipline.
Kind regards.
Omri

LCIS, Choice between FNA and CNB
von Hamed S. am 29. März 2017 für Malignant Breast Diseases
It would have been good to talk about LCIS as well as DCIS particular as the management differs. Also no discussion of the choice between FNAs and CNB in regards to sensitivity and specificity.
A good start
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) Bleeding: Examination & Diagnosis
I think it would be worthwhile to also focus on upper gi bleeding as well. Also It would extremely handy to learn about working up a patients with suspected GI, ie what investigations you would do first. Toronotes Notes has a wonderful flow chart in the Gastrointestinal chapter
Nice coverage of Diverticulitis
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Diverticulitis: Management
I would have liked to also learn a bit about Hartmans procedure in emergent cases. Discussion of recurrence rates for patients undergoing conservative management
Post complications?
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Inguinal and Femoral Hernias
Good talk I would have liked the discussion to also include post operative complications as well as recurrence rates following hernia repair.
Good start but can be improved
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Acute Abdomen: Appendicitis
The introduction on appendicitis lecture was sharp and to the point. However it can be improved by a discussion of the pathophys ie children or young adult: hyperplasia of lymphoid follicles, initiated by infection, adult: fibrosis/stricture, fecolith, obstructing neoplasm and other causes: parasites, foreign body.
Well described but omission of Chronic Subdural haematoma
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Trauma: Epidural and Subdural Hematoma
Good talk on the topic but could be improved by discussion management and when you may consider surgical evacuation vs watch and wait. Also no mention of chronic subdural haematoma.
I need of improvement
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP)
I'm not sure if this topic will be covered in neurosurg but serious detail lacking. First of all no definition what a raised ICP is and how best to diagnose. No clear explanation of the underlying cause ie mass effect (tumour, abscess), vascular (hypoxia, hypercapnia, venous flow obstruction), hydrocephalus (obstructive vs none), pseudotumor cerebri. It would have been useful to discuss shunts in the treatment as well and when you may consider inserting them
Comprehensive and suggestions for the future
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Dementia
Again a really comprehensive coverage of this topic. I would like in the future for a discussion regarding the use of mini-mental state examinations as it is an important part of the work up of a patient with memory impairment. I was surprised not hear about the cautious use of neuroleptics in Lewy body dementia. I would have like to learn more about the clinical utility of neuroimaging and when you would use them? Finally, It would have also been good to tackle prion disease
Covers all the key pathologies
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Movement Disorders
Really comprehensive talks on the various movement disorders. I would have liked to see video examples of each movement disorders for completeness
Very comprehensive
von Hamed S. am 20. März 2017 für Polyneuropathy
A truly comprehensive coverage of this topic. Really impressed with how much information is included and the systematic approach to formulating a ddx
Almost there
von Hamed S. am 18. März 2017 für Multiple Sclerosis: Diagnosis and Treatment
Good summary of the topic but would have been also good further discuss some of the immunosuppresive agents and fingolimod. In the dx workup section the use of MRI was also omitted
Overall a great coverage of this topic
von Hamed S. am 18. März 2017 für Seizures
I really enjoyed the overall topic. Good balance of detail. What I suggest for future revisions is to expand the criteria for when you would prescribe AED for example aside from 2 eps pts with focal abnormalities or underlying conditions that cannot be remedied or patients with abnormal EEGs may be started on these agents. Furthermore, impact on driving and occupation could have also been included. Finally, I would love to see a separate section focused secondary cause of seizures.
Needing more details
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Sub-Acute Headache, Chronic Headache and Migraine
It would have been good to further discuss migraine headaches and tensions headaches. I would have like to learn more about the features of aura (incl scotomas). Moreover, a discussion on what constitutes medication overuse headache is warranted given the ease of access to OTC analgesics. Finally an opportunity has been missed to discuss if which circumstances you would consider the use of prophylactic therapies
Lots of detail lacking
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Hemorrhagic Stroke
Not sure if there will further talks on haemorrhagic stroke but significant omissions evident. For example target for BP lowering, discussion of management of complications incl vasopasm, raised ICP, seziure prevention. Work up of patient wasn't clear ie the use of lumbar punctures in high clinical suspicions but ct equivocal
Decent but flesh out the management
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Ischemic Stroke: Treatment
I enjoyed the series on ischaemic stroke but it would have been great to discuss in more depth the secondary management of stroke in particular blood pressure targets and agents with the most supportive evidence for use (e.g ACE-I). I also note that there was an omission about the best way to manage BP in the acutely hypertensive patient post stroke.
Despite theses as always good taster of the topic. I appreciate the challenge of work that goes into producing these contents
Nicely done
von Della R. am 08. Februar 2017 für Trauma: Epidural and Subdural Hematoma

von omri p. am 02. Februar 2017 für Neonatology (Newborn Medicine)
