Lecturio needs more Dr. Raj's
von Yi?it Ka?an A. am 14. August 2021 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
The best thing about Dr Raj is that his way of teaching is very dynamic and this keeps you in the lecture and makes you stay focused during the lecture. He is an excellent guy. I don't like plain and simple lectures, they are very boring. Also after I listened to his lectures, I don't just memorize, I learn.
Best regards

I will definitely be using this site again before taking my boards. Best resource ever!

An Amazing Foundation for Exams
von Adam W. am 20. April 2021 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Lecturio has the amazing ability to recruit professors that are not only knowledgeable but excel at teaching students. I wish I'd discovered the site earlier.
One of the biggest problems professors have in medical school is that they often forget that they're teaching people who don't already know the material. It can make what seems to the professor like a straightforward lecture into an unintelligible mess to their students. Dr. Shukle was able to break down pharmacology in a much easier to understand format than my professors. While it may not have all the information people will see on a school test, it provides a solid foundation that I used to go back over my lectures and fill in details (this time having a much better understanding of what they were talking about and consequently getting much more out of it).
I can't comment on their lecturio's affect on the USMLE, as I haven't taken that yet. But I do feel much better informed about pharmacology moving forward, and I recommend this series to everyone who felt like I did when listening to their school lectures.

Awesome! I like how fluent the Dr. is. Keep the hard work.
I enjoy the case study concept.
von Dr Glenn G. am 06. Februar 2021 für Diabetes Mellitus
The lectures are very well presented and practical. The case studies are depictions of real clinical interactions that we see on a regular basis. Although I may disagree on some progressions, it's nice that my voice has been acknowledged. With any medical program, there's always going to be a variety of viewpoints and it's important that we are able to recognize all possible interventions. Overall, I do like the Lecturio format. I'm currently taking the entire endocrinology course in preparation for my five day, 40-hour Harvard Medical School course in clinical endocrinology.

von OKWIR A. am 25. Dezember 2020 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
I have really been enjoying Hypertension course, in particular the Pathophys!
It has been answering my previous dilemmas in the topic. For example, this 49 yo male diagnosed with HTN 2 yrs ago, previously had no chronic illness, was screened negative for Diabetes. His GP initiated him on Captopril and Bendrofluethiazide , now currently on Captopril 25 mg BD and Bendrofluethiazide 5mg, but his average BP has ever been around 152/100 mmHg. He has been struggling with weight control (BMI 31 or slightly above). I have been contemplating it is not a good control, and 2 days ago he called me complaining of visual impairment both eyes! Now I am thinking of Secondary HTN with Atherosclerosis as a Differential , oh again and a need for complete eye exam including Fondoscopy, again thinking ECG, Lipid panel and Renal Function test would be beneficial!. He have never done these tests because of affordability issue. ALL THE THOUGHT ABOVE COMES FROM MY CURRENT HYPERTENSION COURSE. BUT MOSTLY AN OPPORTUNITY OF FREE ACCESS TO PREMIUM CONTENT! HOW I PRAY GOD HELP ME SO THAT I PAY BACK TO MY COMMUNITY! I forever grateful please,
Receive my kind and warm regards this Special day!

Dr. Raj's teaching method
von keivan t. am 04. Oktober 2020 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
I do not have a major problem with the material he teaches, although sometimes he just points out to the facts and skips explanations. My major issue is with the overall demeanor of Dr. Raj while he is teaching. He tries to come across as someone cool and the George Clooney of the lecturio and it's very annoying and distracting. At least for me. For those who haven't noticed, look at his facial expression when delivering a lecture. I wish he would just lecture plane and simple without resorting to " hey you know I'm cool, right?". I try not to look at him and just stare at the slides to minimize this effect.

von Elizabeth B. am 31. August 2020 für Antimicrobial Pharmacology

I wish I could flag certain cards to not be included in the "spaced repetition".
von Yuan Yuan C. am 15. Juni 2020 für Cell Cycle and Cell Division
I like the format - the lectures are "short and sweet". The lecturer is reasonable easy to listen to. Perhaps it is just because this is a foundation course, but it does feel this material may not be in-depth enough for USMLE step 1. (Or perhaps because it's re-used for non-USMLE students?).
The questions are just "okay". There are a few errors, and a couple questions could be worded better.
It also seems that some of these questions are testing material that seems only marginally important, and may not be very "high-yield". I wish there was an option to flag review questions to not be included in the "spaced repetition". The "spaced repetition" idea should be for memorizing the most important details, and I don't really want to be memorizing questions that I think are of little importance, incorrect, or poorly worded. (It'd also be a good way your you at Lecturio to decide which questions should be revised - if many people flag it as "don't review again", the question probably needs revision.)

Absolutely high yield in hospital medicine. Often in hospital emergency department would find you can make a DKA dx with history and physical with the lab tests confirming the suspicion. This is an extremely valuable review and high-yield information for anybody working in hospital. Know how to treat and manage DKA upon admission, firstly the fluids and insulin. The rest you can learn or review within a few minutes of recognition. But have to recognize immediately to treat your patient.

von Beatriz M. am 12. November 2019 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
Yes, he's a talker and somethings lose himself in the lecture. You have to be focus in every single word for understand him and you still will be lost sometimes. But it's good and brings to you a great learn
way of presentation is little bit weird to me
von Ming Lok C. am 09. November 2019 für Neoplasia, Dysplasia, Tumor and Cancer: Differentiating Definitions– Neoplasia
Carlo Raj,'s way of presentation is little bit weird to me
Positive feedback even though there is a place for improvement
von sari g. am 05. November 2019 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Explains the different types of drugs and mechanism of action staight to the point, the lecturer is a very good physician. But the guidlines differ from country to country, besides some information is contradictory and missing. Like he did not mention Labetalol as alpha and beta antagonist, he explains that the first drug of choice is ARBs in isolated systemic hypertension while in some previous quiz the answer was diuretics.
Fantastic
von Jennah C. am 04. November 2019 für Anesthesia
I am an anaesthetic nurse and I’m watching this course of lectures to learn more about anaesthesia from the anaesthetists perspective. Dr Warriner explains things in very simple terms which enables me to follow along easily. I have already learnt many things I didn’t know before. Very worth while watching if anaesthesia is an area of interest for you.

von Varvara K. am 28. August 2019 für pKa and Drug Solubility – Absorption and Distribution | Pharmacokinetics (PK)
I found this lecture illuminating.
I think adding an image might help to clarify the solubility issue:
AH can diffuse through lipid bilayer, but is less soluble in water, so would become "trapped" in urine, and the inverse for bases: B form being soluble in lipids, but not in water.
Thank you for the great lecture!

I like his lectures and his pleasant voice. The content is presented very cleanly and structured. Little jokes, e.g., about hospital administrators, make it even more likeable. Even with only traces of math, he gives the feeling of understanding, which is a fantastic characteristic of excellent educators. For me, an engineer for biomedical systems, the course is beneficial.

von Zahid C. am 04. Mai 2019 für Primary and Secondary Hypertension (JNC 8 Guidelines)

Good detail, but missed earlier regions of Leukocyte migration
von Matthieu M. am 19. März 2019 für Acute inflammatory, Type I interferon and NK cell responses
When you touched on leukocyte migration, you began at the stage of "adhesion" when many medical students should include the first two steps before this. It should include Margination, where leukocytes follow lamina flow while being pushed by erythrocytes onto the barriers of the endothelial cells, then rolling, where selectin proteins are adhesion molecules which weakly attach onto these leukocytes causing them to "roll" .... and then do i believe you should be able to talk about the adhesion and transmigration parts. If you could add this in, it would be quite useful. especially because many students are trusting these lecture to have the utmost information. Thank you very much.
When you spoke on the topic itself though, it was quite organised and detailed.

From my point of view, this lecture is an amazing clear presentation about angioedema . This lecture discribes in many ways and from several point of views the struggles and the look outs about this condition and illness. Also, a fresh way for (becoming) docters to make it not so difficult for them working together with the patient, with this clear and vivid diagram. It is possible to check the "boxes" together because of the clear way of putting it all out there. People could recognize the specifics of the illness.

von Josefine C. am 25. Dezember 2018 für Dose-Response, Binding, Quantal, Toxicity & Potency Curves – Pharmacodynamics
Excellent. I had no problem answering the folkow up questions.
I've read about most of these concepts during a biochemistry course I followed earlier, which probably made it easier for me to understand interpretation of the curves in this video.
Gives a good overview, so thanks!
Sincerely,
A Danish medical student

von Hatem Q. am 30. November 2018 für Vitamins
Vitamin section is fine, concerned vitamins explained clearly and easily
However, some water soluble vitamins are considered missing (eg. thiamine, riboflavin, biotin, vitamin C ) although they might be encountered in some other subjects; such as nutrition.
Additionally, minerals are not touched in these lecture series at all
Overall, it is a very good course for the material targeted, but needs to fill the gap of missing items

von Mazen A. am 03. Oktober 2018 für Cells of the Epidermis
this article handles the explanation for skin layers; which I find as the hardest of the topics, in a well organised and logically acceptable building. It is really interesting to read. It summarizes the topic but without the loss of any crucial information. Also, the use of well-labelled pictures and microscopic slides is a plus and catalyse the understanding. I would recommend this to my premedical colleagues.

Hello Dr. Ahern. Your lectures were phenomenal, but for several of the lectures the slides did not correspond with your lecture (they were of totally different topics) or they changed midway into into unrelated biochemistry topics. von shannon w. am 19. April 2018 für Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics
I liked his class. The Lecurer breaks the material down in a way that is easy to undersand. This course is a god send. I have to take this course being an FNP student in graduate school. The quizes are remarkedly like our exams in Advanced Pharmacology. I like how the quizes pop up in the middle of the lecture, it helps you process the material. I plan on taking all the advanced pharmacology course offered and tthe price cant be beat. You are learning valuable material like you would in a college course only it is a lot less money. The knowledge I am learing from this course is invaluable to me and is helping my confidence before I take my advanced pharmacology course for colleg credit. I will follow up with a review when I actually pass the class. I already know it is helping me. Thank you for making this availble to the public. I wish I could get college credit for this. I would say I love the course, But I am not a big fan of pharmacolgy in general as it is a very challenging course for me.

"nutrition"
von Caleb V. am 07. Januar 2018 für Nutrition
Incomplete information.
I'm fascinated with the fact-based approach to the biochemistry of the human body. I like learning about the role that nutrition plays in disease prevention and the overall affects on human health. However, this course appears to still support the outdated views on proper nutrition and nutrition-related disease prevention. I feel that physicians do not get sufficient quality education on nutrition and that corporate interests still play too much of a role in both nutrition studies and nutritional recommendations. Today's healthcare system is more of a "disease care" system, and this profit-centered business approach, specifically with Pharmaceuticals, is doing little good, and in fact, doing a disservice to the overall welfare of the American people.

von Sabrina Patricia P. am 21. August 2017 für Inflammation Pharmacology
Since I've been using lecturio for pharmacology everything started to make sense. I was very worried I would never be able to understand and know all the aspects of differt drugs, because no one explained them to me as good as professor Shuckle. I like it very much because after a clear clasification of drugs and explaining each one, doctor Shuckle introduses personal experience( pericarditis treated with aspirin) which made me remember some things better. I like very much that at every course there are questions! You really saved my career as a doctor with this site and these courses. High quality content! Thank you very much for the support and also I appreciate lecturio asks us to give feedback and takes time to read it. Thank you dr. Shuckle for putting the information in a way that we as students can understand it better. I'm very happy!

Dermatology course challenge is that either everything looks like either dermatitis or lupus. Dr. Raj delivers the course in a concise and straight forward manner. I had no problem with his diction and/or pronunciation. Also, his interactive way of asking in every video, helps you maintain a sort of active learning during the passive learning of hearing the lecture. All doubts clarified.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (in a nutshell).
von Steve P. am 16. Juni 2017 für Hormone Replacement Therapy
I’m just getting an over view at the moment however, Dr Lynae Brayboy’s lectures are lovely, clear and informative thank you! Interesting that alternative treatments are also mentioned though made clear not FDA approved. But that is expected from the FDA as they tend only to be concerned with synthetic drugs and not herbal treatments. While most herbal treatments have been used throughout history and are said to have little or no side effects can still be dangerous (contraindicated) if taken with or along side prescribed medications. I believe this comes across pretty clearly in these lectures, that strive to be unbiased. But as stated Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a controversial treatment.

She spends half an hour explaining the steps of meiosis and doesn't even get into details... I'm not sure how she can manage to explain such simple topics in such a long time (it's half a movie time, for God's sake!).

what about...?
von Laurent E. am 29. Mai 2017 für Erysipelas and Molluscum Contagiosum
Interesting but a little light on my point of view. I am a resident working in France to become an emergency doctor and honestly i would have enjoy to have a differential diagnosis guide between erysipelas and DVT for instance or other similar looking skin disorders. Often receiving elderly patients at emergency, it is sometimes hard do make a difference (clinically i mean) between erysipelas and "ocre dermite" also called purpuric angiodermatitis, part of post thrombotic syndrome. What about the "portal of entry" in erysipelas we have to look for? what about the difference in aspect between cellulitis and erysipelas, one having more delimited and visible border than the other? Anyway thank you for this lecture :)

Good lecture. The talking is very smooth and continuous not robotic like it sometimes tends to be the case with Dr.Raj. Excellent! Good explanation of the terms and the difference between atopic and contact dermatitis!
Some more elaboration on treatment options, including non-pharmacologic and the role of allergen testing (should you do it or not?) would be a good addition.

von George L. am 12. Mai 2017 für Acne Vulgaris
I like his explanation and also him demonstrating techniques or anatomic locations on his own body, however the diction feels very unnatural. This is in all the videos. Can that be improved? It becomes grating to listen to over time and speeding up the video doesn`t do much to improve it.

Overall a great coverage of this topic
von Hamed S. am 18. März 2017 für Seizures
I really enjoyed the overall topic. Good balance of detail. What I suggest for future revisions is to expand the criteria for when you would prescribe AED for example aside from 2 eps pts with focal abnormalities or underlying conditions that cannot be remedied or patients with abnormal EEGs may be started on these agents. Furthermore, impact on driving and occupation could have also been included. Finally, I would love to see a separate section focused secondary cause of seizures.

von Hamed S. am 09. März 2017 für Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

von Christopher D. am 30. Oktober 2016 für Nutrition
In this Nutrition course, Dr. Cornwall elaborates some basic nutritional principles that are essential for any student of Human physiology to understand. The way she presents the information is in much greater detail than what I was exposed to in the small Nutrition course held in Medical school. I particularly liked learning about the Mifflin-St. Jeor Formula for calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR); it literally changed the way I look at food!
Too elemtary and not enough info

The program was to elementary in nature and not deep enough. Sections on pregnancy nutrition was very superficial
Amazing
von Sally A. am 19. Oktober 2016 für Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics
It is amazing. I understood in 10 minutes what I couldn't understand for days. It would have been better if it explains more about the subjects but even though it's good.
Need more Integration.
von olawale o. am 24. September 2016 für Endocrine Physiology
Like the way Dr. Wilson teaches, but I wish he will integrate across disciplines like biochemistry, genetics, pathology, and more importantly, pharmacology. I will pay more if that is what it takes.
He knows what I need to know because he has been where I am right now.
von olawale o. am 24. September 2016 für Pancreatic Disease and Diabetes
Dr. Raj knows what I need to know because he has been where I am right now. The integration is what makes the part of Dr. Carlos patho. amazing. He went to the same medical school I am attending right now, so, that for me, is nothing short of amazing. Nothing against lecturio physio., but they need to take a page from Dr. Carlos, and integrate, integrate, and integrate. You can never have too much of integration at this level.
Simple and fast

Very simple to learn short videos that keeps your attention focus , love it
Missing some details
von Stewart B. am 19. August 2016 für Innate Immune System
The lecture was a bit of an overview of innate immunity. It was short and fails to cover the epithelial barrier, complement inhibitors, details of TLRs, cytokines, and signal 2 pathways. Still not bad for 40 minutes
Love it x

A resource I've been looking for!!!
von zachary w. am 11. August 2016 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
I am constantly looking for good videos on youtube that coincide with my med school curriculum. Now that I have Lecturio, I can access videos all in one place. I haven't found a comprehensive resource quite like this one. The lectures seem to follow my curriculum quite well and hit a lot of the same topics. This is great because it only reinforces what I need for success on exams and boards. I am still figuring out how to best use this resource. For now, I am watching the lectures that follow my class work at school! Thank you!

Thank You for a wonderful course. I really enjoyed they way information was given, both in the slides and in the presentation of it. The tone and the pace of the speech of the Professor was just great to understand for me, as a foreign-language student. What is more all information was given in a very simple and easy to understand way with great examples! Thank you once again!
