I loved Dr Delves lectures! I find them incredibly easy to follow, very clear… he uses his voice to empathize important points, uses fun analogies, sometimes, to explain concepts. What I personally “disliked” is that since I am using his lectures to study for Step 1, it makes me wonder if I really need to know all the details presented in his lectures. It is very interesting and all, but I am pressed for time! I would looove a final summary saying, “this is what you HAVE to know for your exam”. I think doing the quiz questions have helped me extract the most important points in some of the lectures that were so full of “letters and numbers”. But overall, his lectures have made immunology so much more friendly and even amusing!

I've taken Physics I and II before in college, and now am studying for the Mcat and really like how professor Jared breaks down these hard concepts into easy to understand morsels. Particularly in this lesson, he puts a new "spin" into quantum numbers leading to an easier explanation. Thanks!

Although I am at present an unknowledgeable M0, I appreciate how informative this introductory lecture is on mucous versus serous glands, and that an associated slide with images is presented. Histology is a notably difficult course in medical school, especially for people without prior exposure. What textbook(s) or online readings or articles would you recommend reading to further supplement learning of mucous and serous glands and epithelium throughout the human body?

Super helpful introduction and outline of future lectures. I appreciate the integrated instructions surrounding structure, location, function, and particular roles within the body. These lectures are helpful supplements to textbook readings.

While this was certainly a helpful lecture with breaking down differences between mature versus immature bone, not revealing the labeled diagram could prove detrimental to student learning. I noticed when quizzing myself that stronger learning might be taking place, but ultimately, I am not sure if everyone myself included could fully and adequately label every structure on this histological slide. Could you provide these diagrams with labels if they are not already somewhere? My histology atlas displays images differently.

Not much needs to be said, the presentation speaks for itself! Watch for yourself and you'll see how informative this is! The Genetic recombination of B-cells' antibodies and receptors was so hard for me to understand, and all it took was one video (less than 10 minutes) to understand the concept fully. Great professor!

The explanation are cleared. However, they are not included many scientific terms and scientific details that necessary to well understand the content and to do well in the MCAT exam. In other words the content of that lecture are too simple for MCAT students.

How can the process of charging of tRNA be explained if the concept of tRNA has not been presented? What tRNA does and then how it's charged. I am loosing too much time googling stuff. Maybe it has been presented, but it's not part of this playlist, which should be complete.

The lecture on bone formation is not comprehensive and not very easy to digest The photos given by the lecturer is not very good in terms of illustrating the main concepts Having said all these, I recognise that making such lecture series is no easy task and the efforts put in by all staffs are commendable

This is an excellent course that breaks down the cell in detail. The teaching style is such that the lessons are taught as building blocks to the whole to eventually give you the total picture, understanding the cell in great detail.

Covered a vast portion of the basics that are the most important part of the foundation. Well, I find it more useful. I got what I want from this lecture.

This topic is OVERLY simplified. It needs more in-depth explaination, which she claimed to offer later. But this brief section creates even more confusion... Maybe it is better to do a PROPER introduction, or just cut this one out... Also, she herself seems to be unsure and confused. I am not sure what her profession is, but DNA doesn't seem to be a topic, which she should lecture on... In the middle of the video she just blanked, and kind of skipped on some points... (That's not the first time or first lecture that she does that...) P.S. The powerpoint is also not accurate... The coding strand around 0:52 is indicated as template strand... This lecture is quite disappointing, and frankly, a very low quality compare to other Lecturio's lectures.

It really allowed me to understand the tricky areas in my book. Also, I prefer watching videos to reading, so this allowed me to keep on track with my revision. Lastly, I really like how the lecturer provides context and explanations for the things he mentions. It's not really something I get in school.

I relly like this course, since it gives me a really good idea about a lot of disorders and even examples with which its easier to imagine what the person is going through and what we can do to help them. I can also go through some pretty interesting articles and quizes in which I can test my knowledge and go over the things I learned so I can see what I have to improve and go over again.

Content is spot on. And quizzes at the end of each videos are very helpful. Hope Georgina used a cursor or infra red light to point exactly what she was talking similar to other lecturers from other videos. An animated video clip of how each or some of the topics would be very useful.

She didn't talk about the template strand. the prof fumbled with the coding strand and im actually confused if the coding strand, or the tremplate strand matches the sequence of the mRNA. She definitely seems disorganized. It didn't flow at all.

Histology was and always will be my strong suit in medical school, but this was a much-needed review in prep for my upcoming exam. Also, for those who are IMG's and might not have the best of professors, Lecturio has got you covered when it comes to learning what you need to know to do well on exams in year 1 and 2...or if you are having to re-teach yourself like me (upside down smiley).

So easy to understand and memorize! Lecturio has been an amazing tool for my medical education, namely these lectures.

hard to understand this lecture. I also don't understand why lecturio makes it so hard to give a rating. Why can't you just accept a few words? Why do I have to type at least 10 words AND give a heading? If I have to write a short letter every time I give a rating, it just means you don't want people to give you a rating.

Dr. Meyer is a great teacher, a lot from my experience with his videos regarding the introduction to the mammalian cell however, this video definitely left a lot to be discerned and was not very informative. Required me to do a lot of googling to make sense of much of these... Hard to follow and disappointing.

I love this app in general Actually everything was pretty amazing Histology & anatomy explanation But there is a problem with the quality Its not fully HD but i understand that the video is old a bit but fine & where are the tonsils explanation ?, they are a part of the lymphatic system

So far this lecture series has been good but this particular lecture is so hard to follow. The explanations aren't clear, and the professor not pointing out anything is a problem. This has been pointed out in previous lectures as well, and the explanation given is that it's better for us if we try to find it ourselves. This is the first time we are coming across structures like this. It would be better if the professor at least points out an example to us for the first time and then allows us to identify it ourselves later. Otherwise, these lectures have been good except for this one.

I like the picture and descriptions. It could be a little more in depth but overall really good.

It is so slow that I can't focus. Also at the end of lecture functions of endothelium is written on the slide but not explained by the teacher. I think one should mention what is written on slide while doing a presentation.

I chose 5 stars because the lectures were detailed and there were enough slides to explain every point. This really helped me while studying the topic in my textbook as I understood the slides and why they were so; why some looked pale and others look deeply stained, it's simply amazing. I although didn't like that some of the lectures had the last few seconds cut out (for me). I would recommend this lecture to those who have been trying to figure out why histological slides are why they are and have thus found histology "boring".

Liked it because they hv simplified all things that were giving me hard time, now I assure you that I can teach the next person.

For the short duration of the videos, less than an hour, important material is covered and in a way so it is possible to remember. There is even time for a little anecdote about muscle lengths, which makes it easier to remember afterwards. The kind of tricks good teachers use.

Dr Peter Delves is a very good teacher. The way he organizes his lecture is perfect and animated slides are really helpful for us, visual learner. There are 2 things that application user interface can be improved. 1) finding back one’s own notes is difficult and inconvenient 2) should have email notification or in-app notification when lecturers replied to students’ questions in Q&A box.

I suppose it depends on your learning style. That is, most of the medical students I've spoken to, appreciate concise and coherent lectures - Unfortunately, in my personal opinion, this micro-lecture lacked the fundamental high concentration of information that most of us are looking for - to take notes, and practice the spaced repetition model. Instead, her speaking pace, and vocal expression are slightly too fast and the way in which she attempts to outline a basic idea isn't linear in nature which leads the viewer wanting to know more, while simultaneously trying to ignore the off-topic rants. Note: Clearly, she's qualified to teach - however, valid of a point that may be, doesn't mean she has the practical communication skills to do so. Therefore, this is not a question of intelligence, rather - communication and linguistic expression. There will certainly people who prefer this method, I however, can not recommend.

It is an insult for customers to have this guy put up this type of presentation. My textbooks have better supplemental material .

Show the viewer the exact location you want to emphasize. If I turned this type of presentation in for a grade, I would get it returned. Kahn Academy, Ken Hub...this is as low tech as you can get. I expected so much more. You are supposed to save us time. I hate writing this but other people have to know that this lecturer's delivery - I might as well get a text book out and read it to myself.

Of course, I used my books for more information, but at first, I saw al the videos, did some notes, and then I rush into my textbook and realized that I knew the most part of the information. He talks 6 minutes straight without changing a slide! It would be helpful to have bullet points in order to understand step by step what he is going to cover. Very bad teacher.

He presents a list of the lymphocytes without the natural killer cells! Afterwards, he refers to them as if we know what these cells are. He also refers to lymphocytes as "key players", writing below a list of cells that we do not know in which category they belong. Busy slides, difficult language, not able to get his message across.

I took my first semester of physics 10 years ago. This series of lectures about the ear really need to be addressed, they make no sense, if you don't already have a complex knowledge of the ear. Once you have that this I guess is a good way to review, but then why am I paying for this for 2 years? Didn't explain clearly and concisely which each type of RNA was as well as providing its clear function. Additionally, it is best to provide the correct definition thus, followed by an analogy. Starting with an analogy of how the different RNA types can make the lesson hard to follow as well as, causing confusion in the actual definition of the term. This particular video was hard to gather information from.

Concise. Good explanations that go past just describing the layers in the different tissues. Considering the modest length of the videos, it is noticeable how much knowledge is conveyed.

I gave a 5 reason because Physics has been a challenging course to me , especially magnetism. the way the concepts were broken down gave me a deeper understanding and i can now start to understand what i learned as an undergraduate. Keep it up.

I watched the glycopeptide pharmacology lecture, wanted more details on the mechanism of action, segwayed to antimicrobial resistance, then segwayed to "Peptidoglycans - Beta Lactam Antibiotics" video lecture. The D-Alanine-D-Alanine concept also relates to the mechanism of action of vancomycin.

When you touched on leukocyte migration, you began at the stage of "adhesion" when many medical students should include the first two steps before this. It should include Margination, where leukocytes follow lamina flow while being pushed by erythrocytes onto the barriers of the endothelial cells, then rolling, where selectin proteins are adhesion molecules which weakly attach onto these leukocytes causing them to "roll" .... and then do i believe you should be able to talk about the adhesion and transmigration parts. If you could add this in, it would be quite useful. especially because many students are trusting these lecture to have the utmost information. Thank you very much. When you spoke on the topic itself though, it was quite organised and detailed.

I found this lecture very concise and easy to despite being quite basic. I have always struggled with understanding atomic structure and feel that it's due to information overload. This lecture provides just the right amount of information to build on.

My last block contained a lot of immunology, and I did very poorly on the exam. I had an incredibly difficult time teasing out the most important information and organizing the immune response in a logical fashion. All the terms seemed jumbled in my head. This block is infectious disease, and requires building on the foundation of immunology--so I need to rebuild my foudation :p After watched just 3-4 of the Lecturio videos, I immensely regret not using it earlier. Thank you Dr. Delves, for being clear and logical it what is a very difficult and complex subject!

I chosed to give it 4 stars, because I loved the way the lecture was eplained. I am not a native english speaker and therefor prefered the rather slow speed of speach. unfortunatelly there have not been any Control questions and that is why I only rated this lecture with 4 out of 5 stars.

Dr. Delves is very clear in his explanations of the immune system and is able to distill the complex nature of the immune system into a digestible series of lectures for students just beginning their understanding of the immune system.

I chose this liking because it is like he is reading straight off of a board in front of him and sometimes it takes him too long to get to the point of the subject possibly because he is having problems reading the material in front of him.

These lectures are the most intresting Ive seen on immunology topics, delivered clearly, no mnemonics, pictures help significantly, seemed more exciting than any fiction. I would advise it to all who are preparing for the medical exams. I am just so grateful for finding this site.

This lecture and the one before were very confusing. You need to explain that the third energy level can technically hold UP TO 18 electrons (s,p,d sublevels) but it also fills up with the first 8 it receives. valence shells (energy shells) and energy LEVELS need to be better distinguished and not used interchangeably. Luckily, I knew the material and was able to straighten things out for myself using Google. How can I know that Lecturio will not have faulty lectures in the biochem module (material I'm not familiar with)? I am still within 10 days and am considering cancelling my lecturio subscription over this lost credibility in my mind.

What a fantastic course. Dr Meyer moves at an excellent pace and has chosen very good diagrams and histology slides to demonstrate his lectures. At the very start of the course I found one or two initial lectures quite heavy on technical staining technology histology - but that turned out to be less than 1% of the overall course and thankfully it quickly gave way to lectures that focused on tissues and function. I like the way he includes details about what we don't know as well as what we do know - tissue types whose function is not clearly understood (and are therefore typically ignored in other literature). I personally found the technical level just right - and appreciated the way he would sculpt individual sentences from fairly simple to complex to satisfy the needs of most students (such as using a technical phrase but briefly reiterating the meaning of that phrase). Those times he was briefly explaining something I already knew just gave my brain a few seconds to breathe. The questions were 85% useful, with some questions covering content that was about to come up in the following video and a few asking technical histology staining that was of no interest. I did enjoy Dr Meyer's gentle humour and small anecdotes - and even the fake grin he forces at the end of each lecture projects a nice personality and puts a smile on my face.

For many years, I have read lots of textbooks and lots of lecture slides to learn immunology but it was always confusing and none of them knows how to begin immunology. Prof. Meyer is an excellent teacher. His lecturing method is very clear and pleasant. Maybe some constructive improvement tips: - In most lectures Prof. Meyer would describe an histological structure while showing an image. But those particular feature he was describing weren't always marked so in those cases I wasn't sure which structure he was talking about (but in some few videos there were nice animation, so maybe you guys are already working on this point) - Secondly, i was wondering if some of those subjects would be relevenat for the USMLE (Step 1). If it is, I think, it would be a pretty cool feature to integrate some USMLE-like questions after each video (also for other topisc than histology)

A very concise lecture but too much so. I was really hoping to learn more about mechanisms and detail. For example, there was no detail provided about the mechanisms involved with how vascular permeability increases. There was no explanation for what cells produce bradykinin and how this causes vasodilation. This was not advanced enough for medical school.

This is an extremely basic review. Unbelievably, after referring to DSM 5, many of the diagnoses presented were DSM IVR, and are not in the DSM 5. About half of the lectures referred to MCAT preparation. There were grammatical/typographical errors in several of the questions. In the schizophrenia lecture the word “dissociating” is used when “discriminating” is meant (“… having trouble dissociating between reality and delusions or hallucinations”).

Very simply explained. He made a concept that I had been struggling with seem very simple. He explained better than my physics instructor who seems to have given up on teaching a subject that is very interesting.

I certainly liked the video format, where we can adjust the focus from the speaker to the slide, and use the cursor to aid in pinpointing the relevant aspects of the scapula. The only thing I found was missing was a little aside about the suprascapular notch, which was shown in the slide, but not alluded to in the actual video lecture!

Great lecture topic. Great setup to the course. This kind of math stuff (and its application) is key in Physics (and Gen Chem). My actual class would have been so much easier and more insightful if I was better versed in this stuff!

I would say he is one of the best lecturers. His knowledge is absolutely amazing. Everything has been explained so well which I could not find in any texbooks. For example, the function of dendritic cells and it relates to T-cells made me so excited to follow and do not want to stop watching.

Professor Dr. Delves made the classes enjoyable because he made everything simple to understand. Immunology in my opinion is extremely intricate, if you lose focus you get lost. Dr. Selves went exactly to the point with what was important. The slides and topic reviews offered were great accompaniments to the lectures.

I would recommend this course. Hope there are more quiz questions available for optional choices.

Dr. Peter Delves is an amazing lecturer. I wish there were more instructors like him. He is very methodical, starting with rudimentary concepts and building on them at pace that is comfortable for everyone.

I didn't like because (comparing to microbiology) he speaks faster and the resources are poor. To much information without a satisfactory resource. I did graduated in 2009, so it was a long time ago to remember histology. I need to check every detail so it was hard to follow.

Immunology is one of my weakest area, but this lecture series have helped me delve into it and bring it together to the point that I am so confident about it. Thank you so much! I love these courses. I'm only a high school student, preparing to go to medical university. They help me to better understand biology or to be exact, human body. My mother tongue is not English which makes a little bit difficult to understand names in biology for example why T-cells called T-cells. Furthermore what I miss from the lectures are animations sometimes. I know I'm a kid, but animations help to visualize and learn things faster.

Immunology was one subject that I have hated since the very beginning I started studying it. I did understand what the immune system does but I really couldn't understand how everything was happening. After many unsuccessful attempts to understand it on my own I turned to these lectures and now I understand the core material. Thank you very much!

Nothing more i can say than excellent presentations. Every thing is just perfect.

I thought this was an excellent lecture in order to see the relationship between immune cells, their signals, and the corresponding responses from other immune cell types. It brings cytokines that could have been described in the earlier lectures but also fit here with the discussion of signaling.

I found these lectures decent, the questions do a good job at reinforcing the material so more questions after each video would be an improvement. Definitely a large topic and its not organized the way my school taught it but it doesn't assume you know or remember everything which is good. I would recommend for the summer before year 2. You could study during commercial breaks while watching tv.

The lecture was a bit of an overview of innate immunity. It was short and fails to cover the epithelial barrier, complement inhibitors, details of TLRs, cytokines, and signal 2 pathways. Still not bad for 40 minutes

Considering this is a generic overview of the immune system its nice and condensed. It doesn't bite off more than you can chew in the first 45 minutes like a medical school overview can. Some clinical touchstones could round out the material and make it great.

He is a super lecturer; the content, however, could be more challenging and in depth. We need more direct applications clinically described.

It has been amazing beginning with the lectures on Tissues. The questions that pop up at intervals, I believe help keep one focus and reinforce retention of the material. I am hoping that these lectures will help me become a better student.

Very concise and clearly explained. The material is presented in an organized outline so you don't become confused about what exactly is being explained. I lost hours with other materials and so I was reluctant to watch a 40 minute lecture on the areas that I needed help on, but it was well worth the time it takes (which is a med students most valuable commodity!)

I had been watching videos on youtube all day and getting more and more frustrated and how unproductive it had been. They were either too full of details and with poor didactics, leaving me overwhelmed and a bit lost, or they were too long winded over very simple things. Then I came across the trailer for this course, it blew me away just how GOOD the professor is at relaying information at a pace and in a sequence that works perfectly. I signed up immediately and a few hours later I'm here writing this review. It is fantastic.
