In physics, periodic motion is motion that is regular and repeating, an example of which is a vibrating object (in general, most vibrating objects are characterized by periodic motion). You may recognize a sinusoidal curve, from math class, as an example of periodic motion, or the pendulum-like swinging of a yo-yo from your childhood. This course covers the basic descriptions of periodic motion and the definition of a wave and discusses objects undergoing periodic motion due to Hooke's law (restorative force).
