Geoffrey Meyer, PhD

Prof. Geoffrey Meyer works at the School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology at the University of Western Australia.
He is the Coordinator for Histology on the Federative International Program for Anatomical Terminologies (FIPAT) of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA).
Professor Meyer is also the creator of “Meyer’s Histology” (http://histology-online.com) and, in collaboration with Professor John Campbell and Michael Hall, has provided an extensive collection of learning and teaching resources to deliver a histology course completely available online. Geoffrey Meyer’s research activities focus on developing innovative, computer-aided learning and teaching tools.

He has received a number of awards for his work, including the Australian University Teaching Award.
In 2006, and again in 2014, he received UWA Teaching Fellowships. Professor Meyer was also awarded a prestigious ALTC (Australian Learning and Teaching Council) Fellowship in 2009 and is currently the Project Leader on ALTC Project Grants.

Prof. Paul Moss is Professor of Haematology and Head of the School of Cancer Sciences at the University of Birmingham. He studied Medical Sciences at the University of Cambridge and later on was a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.
Professor Moss makes substantial contributions to teaching at many levels, both within the University of Birmingham and beyond.
His research is primarily focused on Cancer Cell Biology, Clinical Trials and Tumour Immunology.

Adam Le Gresley, PhD

Dr. Adam Le Gresley is Associate Professor in the department of Pharmacy and Chemistry at Kingston University London.
Le Gresley was awarded his PhD in supramolecular organic chemistry by the University of Surrey in 2004 and carried out his postdoctoral research on photolabile compounds at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, USA, funded by the NIH.

He was appointed to the Faculty of Science at Kingston University in 2009, where he has been teaching on U/G and P/G courses within chemistry, pharmacy and the biological sciences for the last 6 years. In addition to teaching, Le Gresley maintains a small research group, funded by a number of industrial partners including GlaxoSMithKline with interests in NMR metabolomics, the synthesis of new in vitro diagnostic probes for problem pathogens and novel Rab7 inhibitors for the treatment of diabetes.
He is a regular reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to the development of courses across the faculty. Le Gresley was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2011 and subsequently to Associate Professor in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry in 2013.

Kevin Ahern received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Oregon State University. Currently working as professor of biochemistry and biophysics at Oregon State University, he loves to write poetry and song lyrics. His previous works include “A Limerick a Day For a Year” and “Merry Metabolic and Miscellanic Melodies”. He is also a co-author of the popular biochemistry textbooks, “Biochemistry Free and Easy”.

Georgina Cornwall, PhD

Dr. Georgina Cornwall has taught a broad array of Biology courses at different U.S. universities, currently at the Colorado Mountain College in Aspen. Dr. Cornwall is an active promoter of hybrid teaching formats like online and interactive courses. Thus, she uses modern technology to engage her students in the diverse disciplines of biology – from Microbiology to Genetics.

Vincent Racaniello, PhD

Vincent Racaniello is a Higgins Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Columbia University in New York. As an internationally renowned virologist, he has published many influential papers in the field, and co-authored the well-known textbook Principles of Animal Virology. He has received several awards, including the Irma T. Hirschl, Searle Scholars, Eli Lilly, and NIH Merit. Professor Racaniello firmly believes in the power of the internet as a scientific tool, and works on several platforms to share his vast knowledge in virology.

Carlo Raj has earned his MD at the Medical University of the Americas (MUA) and continued his medical career as international lecturer and author—both assisting MD Edward Goljan and later on his own. Today he is CEO of Indus Intellect, whose goal it is to spread medical knowledge across the globe.

 John Fisher, MD

John Fisher, MD

Dr. Fisher is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Medicine and Infectious Diseases. In his 30 years on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia he has received 58 teaching awards. He has been recognized regionally by the American College of Physicians for his educational skills with the Annual J. Willis Hurst Teaching Award and nationally by the Infectious Diseases Society of America's Clinical Teacher Award. In April of 2015 he received the Jane F. Deforges Excellence in Medical Education Award at the national meetings of the American College of Physicians in Boston, MA. In light of his receiving this prestigious award, he was advanced from Fellow to Master of the American College of Physicians (MACP). Dr. Fisher is also the author of 61 original publications in refereed journals and 44 book chapters.

Peter Delves, Professor Emeritus of Immunology and former Vice Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at University College London, is not only editor of two encyclopedias but also author of several textbooks and laboratory manuals. His special interest lies in improving an understanding of immunology through both web-based education and face-to-face interaction.
 Pravin Shukle, MD

Pravin Shukle, MD

Dr. Shukle is a board certified specialist in internal medicine. He runs one of the largest specialty practices in Ontario, Canada. His area of interest is the stroke and heart attack reduction in high risk patients.

He owns and runs a full functioning cardiac and diabetes suite that includes diagnostics, diet counseling, exercise counseling, and lifestyle support for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and arrhythmia. He is one of Canada’s most popular speakers. He performs over 150 special lectures across the nation each year with various audiences ranging from the general public, to nurses, to physicians, to medical specialists. His lectures are engaging, funny, and informative. In 2016, Dr. Shukle will be conducting a TED talk on using DNA as a memory storage medium.

Brian Alverson, MD is the Director for the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University in Providence, RI. He has been active in pediatric education and research for 15 years.He has won over 25 teaching awards at two Ivy League Medical Schools. He is an author of the book "Step Up to Pediatrics" and over 40 peer reviewed articles. Dr. Alverson has extensive experience in preparing students for the USMLE exams and has test writing experience as well.

Veronica Gillispie, MD, FACOG

Dr. Veronica Gillispie is the Clerkship Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Ochsner Clinical School at the University of Queensland, Australia. She is responsible for curriculum development and preparing her students for USMLE Step 2. Her teaching has been described by her students as relatable. She makes complicated topics easy to understand.

Hetal Verma, MD

Hetal Verma has extensive experience practicing in the field of radiology. She is currently a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School. Hetal has been in practice for over 10 years and has been teaching medical students and residents throughout that time. She has also been invited as a speaker at multiple teaching conferences for other physicians, technologists and the community. Peter J. Ward, Ph.D. has been teaching embryology, anatomy, histology, and neuroscience since 2005. He attended Carnegie Mellon University and later earned a Ph.D. in medical anatomy education from Purdue University. Dr. Ward enjoys finding ways to simplify the complex processes involved in human development and highlights the clinically-important aspects of embryology. Throughout these lectures, Dr. Ward shows how embryonic structures morph into the mature organs and other structures of the human body.

Dr. Sean Elliott earned his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1993, followed by a Pediatric Residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine. Recruited in 1999 at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, he is now the Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate Chair for the Department of Pediatrics, serving as the Pediatrics Residency Program Director from 2011 to the end of 2017 and as the interim Associate Dean of Curriculum from 2017 through 2019.
