Auto peep, What and How
von Dr Vini . am 04. Mai 2025 für Modes of Ventilation: Auto-PEEP
precise and simple explanations through figures. Easy-to-understand text that is not available in common textbooks.
Nice introduction to invasive ventilation.
von Mike P. am 21. Januar 2025 für Mechanical Ventilation
Dr. Raj gave a nice succinct introduction to mechanical ventilation. The lecture was a primer for other more complex content. I appreciated the connection of high PEEP to pulmonary vascular obstruction giving rise to right heart failure. Given this, it would be helpful to discuss in more detail the pitfalls of excessive PEEP on the pulmonary vascular relative pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure, unless of course this is covered in a future presentation that I haven’t seen yet. Regarding the nursing comments. I can appreciate the difficulty of grasping the nuances of mechanical ventilation as it is a complex topic. There are many variables to consider when a patient is on a ventilator. PEEP, respirator rate, minute ventilation, tidal volumes, dead space, airway pressures, etc. It can easily become a blur; however, I respectfully disagree with the RN comments. RNs working in critical care, including emergency departments are best served when they understand this topic as they will be able to care for their patients more effectively.

von Tracy K. am 21. September 2024 für Obstructive Lung Disease
This particular lecturer is probably one of the best I have seen on the platform. I really enjoy his style, especially as he asks questions to the class as if you were in a real lecture. He has a wonderful way of delivering the material and makes it easy to understand and intertwine all concepts from anatomy to patho to pharm. Really great to learn from!
A nice summary
von Mirşah S. am 21. Juli 2024 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
I really liked lecture materiales like editing of video and pdfs. But I think if I didn’t know the lesson before. I wouldnt learn here first time. Because ?t’s like a summary. It’s such a good way to remember the lesson. But for first time not that much. I think its matter of style.

von deleted u. am 22. Mai 2024 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Lecturio has been an invaluable resource throughout my medical course. I chose this rating because of the platform's comprehensive and well-structured content, which significantly enhanced my understanding and retention of complex medical concepts.
What I liked:
1. High-Quality Video Lectures: The video lectures are delivered by experienced professionals who break down difficult topics into manageable and understandable segments. The visual aids and detailed explanations have been incredibly helpful.
2. Quiz Questions and Explanations: After each video, there are quiz questions that test my knowledge and ensure I have grasped the material. The detailed explanations for each answer have helped clarify any doubts.
3.Mobile App: The mobile app has been a game-changer, enabling me to study on the go. Whether I’m commuting or taking a break, I can always fit in some study time.
4. Comprehensive Coverage: Lecturio covers a vast range of topics essential for medical education, from basic sciences to clinical subjects, ensuring a well-rounded preparation for exams and practical applications.
I would highly recommend Lecturio to any medical student who is looking for a reliable and thorough study aid. It is particularly beneficial for those preparing for exams like the USMLE, as it provides targeted content and practice questions that align with the exam format. Additionally, healthcare professionals seeking to refresh their knowledge would also find Lecturio extremely useful.
Overall, Lecturio has been instrumental in my medical education, providing the tools and resources necessary for success in this demanding field.

von Malakamir M. am 04. September 2021 für Respiratory Tract Infections: Introduction
If we compare his lectures with others’, we can find that as if there is a text in front of him and he read it simply. With all respect, his accent is not very comprehensive or I am not familiar with it. I have to read the subtitles to understand what he said. Secondly, there is not any exam question type or cases. If he explained the topics through some developing questions, I think it was better.

Dr. Raj is my fav lecturer on here without a doubt. He's teaching excellently. I really am angry towards morons who have suboptimal Iq for med school and make comments about how Dr. Raj is bad lol. I wish all lecturers were like Dr. Raj, to be honest. I really don't like to see lecturers who try to simplify as much as possible. They're teaching like you're an idiot. Dr. Raj is an excellent teacher. He makes me wanna study more and I'm looking forward to listen to his lectures. I think he's one of the best in lecture and most definitely my favourite teacher thus far. Cardiology is hard to understand for stupid people no matter how hard he tries to simplify. I understand why other people don't like him. They want plain lectures where the lecturer reads slides only. Medicine is not for dummies fellas.
Lecturio needs more Dr. Raj's
von Yi?it Ka?an A. am 14. August 2021 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
The best thing about Dr Raj is that his way of teaching is very dynamic and this keeps you in the lecture and makes you stay focused during the lecture. He is an excellent guy. I don't like plain and simple lectures, they are very boring. Also after I listened to his lectures, I don't just memorize, I learn.

Bad language, bad graphical representation
von Marco-Aurelio D. am 13. August 2021 für Systolic Dysfunction
I have to repeat everything he says three times because of his way of expressing himself, I don't mean the accent, thats fine, but how he puts his sentences together for explaining something is confusing. This is being made way worse by the graphics and the fact that he can't point at what he actually means while he explains it. Also there is no legend to the curves that he explains.

An Amazing Foundation for Exams
von Adam W. am 20. April 2021 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Lecturio has the amazing ability to recruit professors that are not only knowledgeable but excel at teaching students. I wish I'd discovered the site earlier.
One of the biggest problems professors have in medical school is that they often forget that they're teaching people who don't already know the material. It can make what seems to the professor like a straightforward lecture into an unintelligible mess to their students. Dr. Shukle was able to break down pharmacology in a much easier to understand format than my professors. While it may not have all the information people will see on a school test, it provides a solid foundation that I used to go back over my lectures and fill in details (this time having a much better understanding of what they were talking about and consequently getting much more out of it).
I can't comment on their lecturio's affect on the USMLE, as I haven't taken that yet. But I do feel much better informed about pharmacology moving forward, and I recommend this series to everyone who felt like I did when listening to their school lectures.

The reason why I am in lecturio
von Javier C. am 28. Februar 2021 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
I think that this is the kind of teacher that every med school should have. Personally, I like how he integrates all the information that it is given across the whole carrer. As a fifth year student from another country I would like that every class of lecturio be like the classes of Dr. Raj. Seriously, the integration is everything when you are in a rotation in front of a patient.

von Barbara E J. am 09. Januar 2021 für Arrhythmias: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
Whereas I was at first put off a bit by Dr. Raj's style of teaching, I became more and more appreciative of his pedagogic method, soliciting and emphasizing the integration of basic physiology, pharmacology and anatomy in understanding and treating (the pathology underlying) clinical syndromes (of the multiple organ systems). Indeed, the process becomes very stimulating and ultimately satisfying as one becomes able to retrieve and integrate all the basic knowledge in solving clinical diagnosis and treatment.

von OKWIR A. am 25. Dezember 2020 für Hypertension: Basic Principles with Carlo Raj
I have really been enjoying Hypertension course, in particular the Pathophys!
It has been answering my previous dilemmas in the topic. For example, this 49 yo male diagnosed with HTN 2 yrs ago, previously had no chronic illness, was screened negative for Diabetes. His GP initiated him on Captopril and Bendrofluethiazide , now currently on Captopril 25 mg BD and Bendrofluethiazide 5mg, but his average BP has ever been around 152/100 mmHg. He has been struggling with weight control (BMI 31 or slightly above). I have been contemplating it is not a good control, and 2 days ago he called me complaining of visual impairment both eyes! Now I am thinking of Secondary HTN with Atherosclerosis as a Differential , oh again and a need for complete eye exam including Fondoscopy, again thinking ECG, Lipid panel and Renal Function test would be beneficial!. He have never done these tests because of affordability issue. ALL THE THOUGHT ABOVE COMES FROM MY CURRENT HYPERTENSION COURSE. BUT MOSTLY AN OPPORTUNITY OF FREE ACCESS TO PREMIUM CONTENT! HOW I PRAY GOD HELP ME SO THAT I PAY BACK TO MY COMMUNITY! I forever grateful please,
Receive my kind and warm regards this Special day!

Dr. Raj's teaching method
von keivan t. am 04. Oktober 2020 für Hypertension: Endocrine & Cardiovascular Causes
I do not have a major problem with the material he teaches, although sometimes he just points out to the facts and skips explanations. My major issue is with the overall demeanor of Dr. Raj while he is teaching. He tries to come across as someone cool and the George Clooney of the lecturio and it's very annoying and distracting. At least for me. For those who haven't noticed, look at his facial expression when delivering a lecture. I wish he would just lecture plane and simple without resorting to " hey you know I'm cool, right?". I try not to look at him and just stare at the slides to minimize this effect.

von sari g. am 05. November 2019 für Cardiovascular Pharmacology
Explains the different types of drugs and mechanism of action staight to the point, the lecturer is a very good physician. But the guidlines differ from country to country, besides some information is contradictory and missing. Like he did not mention Labetalol as alpha and beta antagonist, he explains that the first drug of choice is ARBs in isolated systemic hypertension while in some previous quiz the answer was diuretics.

Not Enough about Staph (Missed S. Saprophyticus and S. Epidermidis)
von Derwin P. am 18. April 2019 für Staphylococci
This set of lectures on Staph were very generalized and did not cover the other Staph bacteria commonly seen on STEP 1 (i.e. saprophyticus and epidermidis). This seems to be a common theme of not going deep enough to cover material necessary for STEP, yet advertising that you all cover enough material for STEP 1.

Great lecture but lacks a warning
von Andrew M. am 28. März 2019 für Pulmonary Embolism (PE): Management
Great lecture given by a competent speaker. But Dr Bord let us down a little by not elaborating on a clinical teaching point and pearl of wisdom that she may have wanted to talk about in more detail. She makes several references to the subtle presentations PE can take and gives two personal examples in her introduction. She also encourages us to follow our gut instinct if PE is on our minds as a likely diagnosis. I have learnt that if you go looking for text book presentations then you are on the wrong track, and to some extent this lecture encourages us to think text book. One of the most confounding and frustrating aspects of PE is that it can present in many ways - it's a mischievous demon. For me shortness of breath is the only reliable symptom. I would like a warning given to include PE in the differential diagnosis of any patient presenting with shortness of breath. However, despite my warning PERC and Wells are a good aid for getting you out of a misdiagnosis, but you have to be thinking PE to begin with. If, as clinical educators, we pushed this point in 101 then perhaps more PEs could be picked up earlier.

For any Medical Students who will be taking ACLS or want a better understanding of Cardio Pharma. 10/10
von joshua W. am 07. Januar 2019 für Cardiovascular Emergencies and Shock
Phenomenal instruction. As a medical student, I understood the theory behind ECG and pharmacology, but didn't quite understand the why or when. I watched this course prior to taking ACLS, and her explanations having given me more confidence in not only cardiovascular emergency, but also understanding the application of these events. For any medical student I would highly recommend taking the time to watch these videos after you cover cardiology pharmacology in your studies. This course will very clearly give you the understanding the "why" of cardiac pharmacology. As far as medical students go, we tend to look for videos that are very to the point and explain well without wasting time. This lecture series checks all the boxes. Very well done, and very highly recommended.

von olawale o. am 05. Februar 2018 für Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS): Differential Diagnosis
Once again, Dr. Raj is blowing my mind with the way he teach medicine. Connecting everything from here on out to eternity. I have a question about that second quiz question about sepsis before ARDS. The answer was that ARDS following sepsis will decrease the cardiac output, and that was according to what Dr. Raj said in the lectures. Is it possible that we could also have a situation with respiratory rate increasing?

I am constantly looking for good videos on youtube that coincide with my med school curriculum. Now that I have Lecturio, I can access videos all in one place. I haven't found a comprehensive resource quite like this one. The lectures seem to follow my curriculum quite well and hit a lot of the same topics. This is great because it only reinforces what I need for success on exams and boards. I am still figuring out how to best use this resource. For now, I am watching the lectures that follow my class work at school! Thank you!
