Day 3: Biochemistry – Watch Videos

Dr. Georgina turns difficult topics in genetics into clear and simple concepts that are easy to digest! For the first time I feel like am starting to understand the Central Dogma and related subjects better thanks to her. She's also greatly commited to student success by answering to students questions and concerns about the subject.

Topic is not comparing the topics from previous topics in the table form. Then students will remembered

I, really, liked ALL of Dr. Cornwall's lectures, but did NOT find time to rate them! I am, still, trying to put it all together because molecular biology is my most difficult subject, but Dr. Cornwall put together much that I knew -- and I am far better off than beforehand! I, definitely, now understand as much as any medical student ought to about molecular biology -- and thus, I am glad that I made notes the whole way, giving me paperwork to re-think all that Dr. Cornwall taught me! Thus, I wish Dr. Cornwall the best and am grateful! :)

Georgia Cornwall has done a conscientious job at teaching molecular and cellular biology -- and I enjoy it daily! :)

This explanation was not clear at all. I had to research a lot of information elsewhere to understand the concepts presented. This is the exact opposite of what is to be expected of something that should make students life easier.

The concepts mentioned in this lecture are very confusing and poorly explained. She made no effort to clarify the meaning of homeodomain, homeoprotein, and other such concepts. Also, she seems very unsure of what she is teaching and the speed is too fast to properly retain the information.

It was very comprehensive and I loved how easy it was to understand

in depth knowledge on DNA splicing, ecor 1 and so the base pairs want to stick together and then ligase comes along to stick together the backbones, the phosphate-sugar backbones. Here you can see how the two pieces come together and now we have a recombinant DNA molecule. Again, we are generally looking at a circular chromosome and a foreign piece of DNA being inserted into that circular chromosome and so we'll see two ends of sticky ends and insertion of that sequence.

This lecture gave me a brief knowledge on how rDNA is made.

I liked the lecture. It was clear and concise. I liked it better if the lecturer used more visuals of techniques.

Very condensed, but a well-taught lecture. I love the teacher´s style.

Lesson was so fast and not understandable .Lecturer should have gone from easy points to harder points.She could not make it easier this topic for me .She did not use her hand at all during the lesson.This is so lazy way for giving a lesson and unproffesional.

Basic topics which i had difficulties in understanding has been well explained and now I have fixed the knowledge :) Suggestion: it's hard to cover the extremely fast growing biotechnology topic but I guess "omics" would be good to add

Despite the mishaps, I thought the information was understandable. Especially the ending when she connected Trp and Lac operons with repressible and inducible.

Great concise videos covering salient points in biotech. Most of material is well presented though some concepts I've had to supplement with other sources to fully understand. Overall, great useful series. Thank-you Dr. Cornwall!

Dr. Cornwall is fantastic! The biotechnology series helped me SO MUCH going into lecture.

She keeps it short and simple. Great work in this video. It's great prep before going into a lecture!

TOO SIMPLIFIED AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE LECTURER WASN'T WELL-PREPARED FOR THE LECTURE KEEP SAYING NONSENSICAL WORDS. I AM REALLY FURIOUS AND FRUSTRATED LISTENING TO HER LECTURE.

Very well explained. Would have appreciated had the lecture been a bit more comprehensive on certain topics, like in DNA replication and also a dynamic step by step diagram of the process would have been better to understand.

The lecturer tripping up make it a little difficult to follow but it is made clear in the end.

Well done! Very targeted information. For those that say it’s not as deep as their classroom lecture, it is not designed to be. Again,what we are supposed to get out of this course is the high yield information...and we are getting it. Thank you so much Dr. Cornwall.

I’m following this course as I’m attending this course at my university, it very helpful, but I wish it was as detailed as our class are.

The course was well explained. It is confusing subject matter, but she did her best to make it understandable. She is funny, energetic and lively

Very helpful on understanding the basics of the repair mechanisms.

I like the Lecture it explain many things but there are very important thinks haven't been explained like how to knockout some genes by using shRNA or siRNA. I know that you explain CRSPR which is the greatest method ever . But I think is necessary to talk about shRNA, siRNA and what the advantage and disadvantag because everyday in school we here about them and I think they need to coverd in this lecture. Thanks
