Nursing Research and Evidence-based Practice (EBP) (release in progress)

Von Prof. Lawes

Nursing research refers to the systematic investigation of nursing practice, patient care, and healthcare outcomes. It involves the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to generate insights that improve patient care and healthcare delivery. Evidence-based practice (EBP) describes the use of research findings to inform decision-making and guide nursing interventions.

In this course, students are introduced to the role of the nurse in the understanding, advancement, and use of research for EBP. The course covers the differences in research approaches, ethical issues, and standards of professional practice. The student will learn strategies to find and critique research evidence to answer clinical questions. Applying research findings to bedside care and system improvement is emphasized throughout the course content.
