Cardiac physiology describes the processes required to maintain the pumping function of the heart. The immediate sustenance of life requires the heart to pump blood continuously from the moment of its differentiation in the womb. There are a multiplicity of biophysical principles that allow for the conduction of action potentials and contractility of muscle fibers.

In this course, the student will be introduced to the basic concepts of bioelectrical current generation and conduction; the electrocardiogram and the principles behind the generation of its tracing; the cardiac cycle and all the events that take place synchronously during its phases; and finally the basic principles of cardiac mechanics.

For optimal comprehension, the student must have a preliminary understanding of molecular and cellular biology, emphasizing biochemistry, the histology of cardiac tissue, and the physiology of bioelectrical conduction. The parallel study of the anatomy of the heart is encouraged.

Thad Wilson, PhD

Dr. Thad E. Wilson is a Professor and Director of Education in the Department of Physiology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, USA.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.
Not only is he an experienced lecturer with many years of teaching experience, but he has also developed and improved medical curriculums, and served in leadership roles directing Medical Physiology and various organ system courses.
Due to his achievements, Dr. Wilson has been awarded multiple institutional and national medical school teaching awards.

Everything was incredible, But I think one of the question has two correct answers Anyway with a increase afterload the SV decrease and ESV increase and the preoload increase too.
