Social Processes That Influence Human Behavior

by Tarry Ahuja, PhD

Human behavior is influenced by myriad factors, not least of which are the presence of others and the implicit or explicit social norms of society. Often, social processes influence our behavior through unwritten rules that define acceptable and unacceptable behavior in society. Our understanding of groups and social norms is learned through the process of socialization. What we learn through this process affects our behavior and influences our perceptions and interactions with others. The content in this course covers how the presence of others, group decision-making processes, social norms, and socialization shape our behavior.

very good short and detailed. I like how instructor was able to break down the concept into simple words and use simple examples to convey the main points of the lesson

Excellent and very intelligible with lots os scenarios to 'hang' the concepts onto.

I would recommend this course very much. Tarry is a great lecturer. I love the short length of the individual component lectures. It means I can watch one or two during my breaks at work on my iPhone.
