    00:01 So let’s wrap up these medications.

    00:03 Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the two major diagnoses under chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD.

    00:11 Remember, emphysema has damaged the alveolar walls, they’re blown up.

    00:16 Chronic bronchitis has an excess mucus and inflammation, those lungs are gunked up.

    00:22 But whether it’s emphysema or bronchitis, as the disease progresses, breathing gets more and more difficult.

    00:30 The main medications that we use to treat COPD are bronchodilators, glucocorticoids, phosphodiesterase type 4 inhibitors for severe COPD.
