    Transcript

00:01 So to recap our introduction of the human body, we find that anatomy is defined as the study of the body structures while physiology is defined as the study of how these structures function.

00:15 From the cellular level to the organismal level, the human body can be organized into six levels of structural organization.

00:25 At the organ level, there are 11 organ systems including the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, and reproductive system.

00:48 There are several different directional terms that are used to describe the location of structures on the body.

00:56 We also use different planes to observe structures from different perspectives.

01:03 We are able to observe these anatomical structures using different medical imaging techniques such as X-ray or MRI.

01:13 Thank you for tuning in to this lecture on the introduction of the human body.
