00:01 So let's wrap up this video series. 00:03 There are four major similarities between HHS and DKA. 00:08 number one, they both occur in diabetic patients. 00:12 Number two, these both represent life-threatening medical emergencies of elevated blood glucose. 00:19 number three both DKA and HHS involve increased serum plasma osmolarity therefore number four is logical, they both have extreme osmotic diuresis and dehydration. 00:33 now the three major priorities of care for a patient with HHS or DKA are to safely correct the severe dehydration from the osmotic diuresis, correct the hyperglycemia, and to correct the electrolyte imbalances. 00:47 Thank you for watching our video today.
