00:00 Welcome to this presentation on brainstem lesions. First, some clinical pearls that relate to your understanding of brainstem lesions and where they might be localized. The first bullet item highlights that a brainstem lesion may be localized by the cranial nerve that’s involved. When a cranial nerve, it's involved, you want to think about its ipsilateral findings as well. The second pearl is that a lesion in the brainstem will also involve one or more of the ascending or descending nerve tracts. When these are involved, you’re looking at contralateral findings.
