00:00 So in a nutshell, what is aplastic anemia? Well, this is gonna result from bone marrow failure.

00:06 It's gonna result in a reduction in all cell lines including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.

00:12 This can be caused by anything that damanges the bone marrow.

00:17 Signs and symptoms are due to anemia, the low platelet count and a decreased immune system.

00:22 Complications can arise from the lack of sufficient cells and you can treat this by replacing blood components and through a stem cell transplant.

00:31 Thank you for watching this lecture on aplastic anemia.
