    00:01 So let's wrap up this video series.

    00:03 Remember the WHO, the World Health Organization recommends a regimen of multiple antiretroviral for HIV positive patients.

    00:12 The goal of ART is a normal CD4 T-cell count and the lowest possible HIV viral load to maximize the health of the immune system and prevent progression to AIDS.

    00:24 Now art should continue to be effective if the patient is able to be compliant and consistent with the medication.

    00:31 Patient may experience some side effects with ART, but these should resolve over a period of time but keep asking them because compliance equals tolerable side effects.

    00:41 So that's our role to work alongside the patient.

    00:44 If drug resistance develops, the healthcare provider can recommend an alternative medication regimen.
