00:04 Now, once it's complete and we've administered all the blood, throughout that bag, then we can stop the infusion pump.

00:11 And many times at this point, we will flush and open up the saline bag to flush through the IV.

00:17 Then we want to reassess the patient again, and check their vital signs, respiratory and cardiovascular assessment.

00:25 And once we've infused the complete order, we can disconnect the administration tubing, scrub that hub again and make sure we flush through that site.

00:33 Once you've completed this procedure, dispose of the administration tubing in the used supplies.

00:39 So because it's a blood product, usually, you have to put it in a red biohazard bag, but check your agency's policy.

00:47 Make sure the bed's back in the lowest position that's safest for the patient, take off your gloves, perform your hand hygiene, and document your procedure.
