In this section, we will focus on central nervous system (CNS) tumors, the most common of which are gliomas, or diffusely infiltrative brain tumors originating from glial cells. These tumors exist on a spectrum. Whereas pilocytic astrocytomas are relatively benign, glioblastoma carries a devastating prognosis. Other types of central nervous system tumors can include meningiomas and, very rarely, neuronal-derived tumors. Treatment of each tumor type is dependent on the biologic behavior of the tumor and may involve chemotherapy, surgery, and/or radiation.

Carlo Raj is so good at explaining and keeping you alert and focused. He asks questions and is very funny! I learned a lot about the things that didn't stick in my normal classes. Super good course!!
