00:01 So constipation and colic is another presentation very frequent in pediatrics utilizing OMM could help to balance the autonomics and help improve some of the symptoms.

00:14 We could utilize treatments to address viscerosomatic reflexes, we could decrease facilitation and get proper functioning of the GI tract.

00:22 OMM for babies can help to reduce the discomfort and potentially help to decrease colic.

00:31 There were several studies performed looking at the efficacy of OMT in treating colic.

00:37 So here, there were 28 infants randomized into two groups.

00:41 One group received OMT, the OMM did not.

00:44 And then what they found was that the kids that received OMT actually had significant decreases in crying and increased time sleeping.

00:54 There was a review study done looking at 6 different studies looking at the effect of OMT on infant colic, kids less than 6 months.

01:03 Out of the 6 studies, 5 were suggestive of a beneficial effect which added up to reducing the average crying time by an hour and 12 minutes per day.
