Parametric Differentiation

In calculus, parametric differentiation describes calculating the derivative of a dependent variable with respect to another dependent variable, both of which depend on a parameter, or an independent third variable—usually "time." For example, suppose we would like to represent the location of a baseball after the ball leaves the pitcher’s hand. If the baseball’s position can be described by the plane curve (x(t),y(t)), then we should be able to find the speed of the ball at any given time with the use of parametric differentiation and calculus.
