Musculoskeletal System – Physiology (Nursing)

Musculoskeletal System – Physiology (Nursing)

by Jasmine Clark, PhD

The musculoskeletal system is involved in many common injuries and patient complaints. Moreover, this system is involved in maintaining calcium homeostasis. Therefore, knowledge about the musculoskeletal system is important for nurses working in a wide range of specialties.

In this course, you will learn about calcium metabolism, joint anatomy and structures, the functions of the skeletal system, the muscles and muscle metabolism, and how impulses lead to muscle contraction. In addition, we’ll discuss common disorders associated with the musculoskeletal system, bone fractures, and bone regeneration, and briefly review the differences between skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle.

Well Done and Clear
By K M. on 31. October 2023 for Cardiac and Smooth Muscle (Nursing)

Very clear and the images helped. It was easy to understand due to your clear descriptions.

Movement could have helped instead of flat images.

Arrows helped, but actual moving images or you showing the movement would have been much better. My book has still images.

Really could have benefitted from moving images instead of flat images to help understand everything.

Thank you

Physiology is difficult due to most of the memorization being words instead of imagery. I appreciate your using so many images and putting key points on the slide. I do wish you kept images up while listing key points for the joints. Overall this is a good review of the physiology of joints.
