von Carlo R. am 19. Januar 2021 für ANCA-associated Small Vessel Vasculitides
Mehmet K, and others thank you for your feedback! I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe in 2021. I read your comments, and try to deeply reflect upon them. I thoroughly enjoy the feedback that I receive from you the medical students and doctors, fore; it allows me to improve upon the art that I have been fortunate enough to be part for the past 20 years. Thanks to individuals such as you who take the time out of your busy schedule to express what is on your mind, it allows me to always be improving as a medical educator. There are numerous other resources out there, as you are aware, and I feel privileged that you wish to invest your time and money with me and Lecturio. As any patient should receive 2nd and 3rd opinions about treatment protocol, and even encourage such behavior by doctors who are secure in themselves, I would recommend the same for you so that you are constantly being fed and inspired by medical knowledge! You live in golden age of medical education and possess tools at your disposal to excel in your medical school coursework, USMLE/PLAB/MER, etc. I hope you find a resource that you can relate to, if it's me, fantastic, if not, that's okay too, but the most important thing is that you/me, WE, continue on our journey of growth and humility. Thank you all for making me a part of your academic life, however brief it may be. ~Carlo Raj

Decent course but a bit boring at times
von Mathew C. am 16. April 2019 für CNS Infections - Clinical Neurology
This course delivered a lot of information and useful techniques with regards to the analysis of CSF to determine the cause of meningitis and the rundown of most of the clinical presentations of these disorders. I also enjoyed having the summary at the end of each video to give an overview to each condition and the main points to remember about each.
The actual pathophysiological teaching leaves much to be desired as do the slides themselves. Dr Raj is good at delivering things in an interesting way when he has the right slides. These ones are just text most of the time which makes things much less interesting. It would also be nice to get more of an insight into the pathophysiological mechanisms of each disease both macro and micro
cool presentation!

Clear and vivid
von D.S. K. am 07. Januar 2019 für Angioedema
From my point of view, this lecture is an amazing clear presentation about angioedema . This lecture discribes in many ways and from several point of views the struggles and the look outs about this condition and illness. Also, a fresh way for (becoming) docters to make it not so difficult for them working together with the patient, with this clear and vivid diagram. It is possible to check the "boxes" together because of the clear way of putting it all out there. People could recognize the specifics of the illness.

i really like it,because before these lecture i went through neuroanatomy , i got some bullet point from the lectures.
severely disappointed
von Joseph S. am 14. Dezember 2018 für Sub-Acute Headache, Chronic Headache and Migraine
seriously these series of lectures are the absolute worst. no explanation at all, no physiopathology, no images...just a pathologist who seems to be severely under qualified to teach a comprehensive clinical neurology lecture , reading a bunch of bullet points off the most lazily prepared power point presentation. seriously strating to wonder what the point of lecturio is. I do the q bank right after the lectures and literally nothing that is asked is mentioned in these lectures.
this is very basic
von Joseph S. am 06. Dezember 2018 für Spinal Cord Pathology: Introduction
Im sorry Dr Raj, I really enjoyed your cardiology series, but the neurology is subpar to put it politely. zero detail, just a bunch of bullet points and basic stuff a first year pre-med student already knows. no detail as to the pathophysiology, treatment or any of that. If I have to go back to biochem or neuroanatomy for all that then what's the point of this series?
Concise and straight to the point! :)

von Robert d. am 13. November 2018 für Neuropathology

von Neuer N. am 23. Februar 2018 für Acute Bacterial Meningitis: Predisposing Factor Age
Tons of mistakes in what seems to be all fields of Lecturio videos. It's a shame really. This one in particular goes on about the "virus" H. Influenzae. It's just tons of basic stuff that they really mess up. I wouldn't even use this as a free resource honestly.
Excellent with some adjustments needed
von Mai A. am 22. Februar 2018 für Primary vs. Specific Amyloidosis
Great but more details need to be included in pathogeneses, please.
Minor mistake but excellent nonetheless
von Glen K. am 22. Februar 2018 für Acute Bacterial Meningitis: Predisposing Factor Head Trauma
Despite that Dr. Raj inaccurately recognized H. influenzae as a virus (which is actually a G(-) bacterium), he did a good job of engaging students in thinking and reflecting, while pointing out a general memory-aiding scheme ( e.g. common skin flora species being implicated in post-neurosurgery/penetrating trauma/CSF-associated meningitides)
Having watched many of Dr Raj's videos (a med-student with high standards myself and always hateful of lackadaisical teaching styles of the MAJORITY of professors in my country), I have to say Dr. Raj exhibits excellent "mentor" qualities in a style of his own.

Not even close to being sufficient
von Una E. am 17. Oktober 2017 für CNS Infections - Clinical Neurology
I work as an MD at the neurology department at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen. I was looking for inspiration before I was supposed to do a lecture on CNS infections myself, for the medical students and young doctors at the department. Your lectures are not even close to being good enough or sufficient - there are WAY to many details left out, plus, explanations and clinical relevance is almost none. I couldn't use it at least, and had to dig deeper in my old books and in other lectures. Moreover, I don't get the way the lecturer speaks... he pronounces some words with a weird emphasis on specific words - making you almost feel stupid...
Great overview. Wish that dermatology covered more topics, though.

Dermatology course challenge is that either everything looks like either dermatitis or lupus. Dr. Raj delivers the course in a concise and straight forward manner. I had no problem with his diction and/or pronunciation. Also, his interactive way of asking in every video, helps you maintain a sort of active learning during the passive learning of hearing the lecture. All doubts clarified.

what about...?
von Laurent E. am 29. Mai 2017 für Erysipelas and Molluscum Contagiosum
Interesting but a little light on my point of view. I am a resident working in France to become an emergency doctor and honestly i would have enjoy to have a differential diagnosis guide between erysipelas and DVT for instance or other similar looking skin disorders. Often receiving elderly patients at emergency, it is sometimes hard do make a difference (clinically i mean) between erysipelas and "ocre dermite" also called purpuric angiodermatitis, part of post thrombotic syndrome. What about the "portal of entry" in erysipelas we have to look for? what about the difference in aspect between cellulitis and erysipelas, one having more delimited and visible border than the other? Anyway thank you for this lecture :)
It lacks some important diseases sadly
von jo j. am 23. Mai 2017 für Movement Disorders
The overall quality is good. But what about diseases like ALS, I dont understand why a important disease like this are not covered in the clinical neurology course. And there are couple of other diseases also. I hope that lecturio fixes this issues in the near future.

Smoothly presented lecture, good content, could use some additions
von George L. am 14. Mai 2017 für Atopic Dermatitis
Good lecture. The talking is very smooth and continuous not robotic like it sometimes tends to be the case with Dr.Raj. Excellent! Good explanation of the terms and the difference between atopic and contact dermatitis!
Some more elaboration on treatment options, including non-pharmacologic and the role of allergen testing (should you do it or not?) would be a good addition.
Good content, room for improvement on the delivery
von George L. am 12. Mai 2017 für Acne Vulgaris
I like his explanation and also him demonstrating techniques or anatomic locations on his own body, however the diction feels very unnatural. This is in all the videos. Can that be improved? It becomes grating to listen to over time and speeding up the video doesn`t do much to improve it.

von Hamed S. am 07. April 2017 für Seborrheic Dermatitis

von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Trauma: Epidural and Subdural Hematoma
Good talk on the topic but could be improved by discussion management and when you may consider surgical evacuation vs watch and wait. Also no mention of chronic subdural haematoma.
I need of improvement
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP)
I'm not sure if this topic will be covered in neurosurg but serious detail lacking. First of all no definition what a raised ICP is and how best to diagnose. No clear explanation of the underlying cause ie mass effect (tumour, abscess), vascular (hypoxia, hypercapnia, venous flow obstruction), hydrocephalus (obstructive vs none), pseudotumor cerebri. It would have been useful to discuss shunts in the treatment as well and when you may consider inserting them
Comprehensive and suggestions for the future
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Dementia
Again a really comprehensive coverage of this topic. I would like in the future for a discussion regarding the use of mini-mental state examinations as it is an important part of the work up of a patient with memory impairment. I was surprised not hear about the cautious use of neuroleptics in Lewy body dementia. I would have like to learn more about the clinical utility of neuroimaging and when you would use them? Finally, It would have also been good to tackle prion disease
Covers all the key pathologies
von Hamed S. am 21. März 2017 für Movement Disorders
Really comprehensive talks on the various movement disorders. I would have liked to see video examples of each movement disorders for completeness
Very comprehensive
von Hamed S. am 20. März 2017 für Polyneuropathy
A truly comprehensive coverage of this topic. Really impressed with how much information is included and the systematic approach to formulating a ddx
Almost there
von Hamed S. am 18. März 2017 für Multiple Sclerosis: Diagnosis and Treatment
Good summary of the topic but would have been also good further discuss some of the immunosuppresive agents and fingolimod. In the dx workup section the use of MRI was also omitted
Overall a great coverage of this topic
von Hamed S. am 18. März 2017 für Seizures
I really enjoyed the overall topic. Good balance of detail. What I suggest for future revisions is to expand the criteria for when you would prescribe AED for example aside from 2 eps pts with focal abnormalities or underlying conditions that cannot be remedied or patients with abnormal EEGs may be started on these agents. Furthermore, impact on driving and occupation could have also been included. Finally, I would love to see a separate section focused secondary cause of seizures.
Needing more details
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Sub-Acute Headache, Chronic Headache and Migraine
It would have been good to further discuss migraine headaches and tensions headaches. I would have like to learn more about the features of aura (incl scotomas). Moreover, a discussion on what constitutes medication overuse headache is warranted given the ease of access to OTC analgesics. Finally an opportunity has been missed to discuss if which circumstances you would consider the use of prophylactic therapies
Lots of detail lacking
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Hemorrhagic Stroke
Not sure if there will further talks on haemorrhagic stroke but significant omissions evident. For example target for BP lowering, discussion of management of complications incl vasopasm, raised ICP, seziure prevention. Work up of patient wasn't clear ie the use of lumbar punctures in high clinical suspicions but ct equivocal
Decent but flesh out the management
von Hamed S. am 16. März 2017 für Ischemic Stroke: Treatment
I enjoyed the series on ischaemic stroke but it would have been great to discuss in more depth the secondary management of stroke in particular blood pressure targets and agents with the most supportive evidence for use (e.g ACE-I). I also note that there was an omission about the best way to manage BP in the acutely hypertensive patient post stroke.
Despite theses as always good taster of the topic. I appreciate the challenge of work that goes into producing these contents
Liked it!
von Lindsey S. am 25. Februar 2017 für Rosacea
I liked this video much better than the last. :) Maybe it's because he starts to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
Too robotic sounding
von Lindsey S. am 25. Februar 2017 für Acne Vulgaris
I agree with the above review. As knowledgable and nice as he may be, the flow isn't there. It's very robotic.
Very good way of teaching and explanation is clear to the key points

von Della R. am 08. Februar 2017 für Trauma: Epidural and Subdural Hematoma
I really liked this lecture and learned a lot. He broke it down and explained things simply without being condescending, and I found his examples to be easy to remember.
Great!
von Rashmi G. am 07. Februar 2017 für Stroke: Introduction
The lecture was concise and to the point. Dr Carlo's Style of lecturing always provides the right amount of emphasis, and his use of anecdotes help in visualising the patient. Any Iecture by Dr. Carlo Raj Is always highly recommended.
Very helpful

To the point and repetitive, which helps a lot with making sense of confusing differentials.

I liked the vídeos becase they are like a quick view of a topic, the general stuff and really important.
I would like more photos, maybe clínica cases to practice and not to be so general in the treatment
Crystal clear differential diagnosis

Said by a old MD (58) you can count on it Dr Raj has the gift, the talent to focus on what really matters but most of all after many years it was the first time that I was amazed by specific tips I never took in consideration . Thanks Dr Raj thanks Lecturio I shall die less ignorant
