00:02 We’ve covered the major functions of the gastrointestinal system.

00:07 These primarily are involved with absorption in which you need to have digestion and secretions to have occurred as well as you need to have enough motility to move this throughout the GI system.

00:20 We also talked a lot about the three phases of digestion.

00:23 And remember that was the cephalic, the gastric, and intestinal phase.

00:28 And finally, we spent a long time talking about the various molecules that we’ll discuss during the GI system.

00:35 In fact, there are a lot these signalling molecules and may feel a little bit overwhelming right now, but that’s okay because you need to be introduced to them because they become part of your vocabulary so we can use them throughout the rest of the gastrointestinal system.
