I like how she breaks down the information in small and easy to understand pieces. There's no need to overcomplicate things like other science teachers love to do.
So clear and to the point - perfect - love this video
Very well explain and the quizes are a great help
The video by Lecturio provides an excellent overview of the electron transport chain and chemiosmosis, two of the most important metabolic processes in the cell. These processes work together to produce ATP, the cell's energy currency. One of the most interesting things about the electron transport chain is that it is a highly efficient way to convert energy from food into ATP. The chain uses the energy from NADH and FADH2, two electron carriers that are produced during glycolysis and the Krebs cycle, to pump protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane. This creates a proton gradient, which is like a dam holding back a reservoir of energy. The ATP synthase enzyme then uses the energy of the proton gradient to drive the synthesis of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate. This process is called chemiosmosis. The video does a great job of explaining the complex steps of the electron transport chain and chemiosmosis in a clear and concise way. It also provides helpful animations and diagrams that illustrate the process.

The information is presented in a way that is easy to understand! Thank you ????
The analogy of the central dogma is the best explanation I've ever heard!!
I appreciate the approach to clear concepts and road map to the subject matter.
This subject was amazing to learn, and Georgina makes it easy to understand, so I could say that really loved this course, thank you.
Well structured and comprehensible. Ms Georgina Cornwall makes pleasant pauses between sentences, speaks clearly and explains so that it is easy to follow. The questions afterwards are also very helpful.
An excellent and detailed description of each phase with emphases on correct language.
Ms Cornwall presentations hard to understand with no clear imaging and orientation of the slides
It is too simple like introductory biology. We need more advanced molecular biology
lack of information no explanation ,its like you are reading headings. and the quiz questions are poorly made.
Great way to remember the three portions of the ribosome!
Breaks concepts down easily and love the review questions. Helps solidify learning.
very new insight to explain macronutrient and fruit for thought
There are mistakes in the video and they make the material more confusing than it should be.
The explanation are cleared. However, they are not included many scientific terms and scientific details that necessary to well understand the content and to do well in the MCAT exam. In other words the content of that lecture are too simple for MCAT students.
I understood very well the topics. I learned things I didn't before in school
How can the process of charging of tRNA be explained if the concept of tRNA has not been presented? What tRNA does and then how it's charged. I am loosing too much time googling stuff. Maybe it has been presented, but it's not part of this playlist, which should be complete.
yummye yummy yumme yom? yommer yom yom yom; yom yom yom.
very good knowledge gained. Learnt a lot about RNA and DNA and messenger RNA
FINALLY! I get replicated homologous chromosomes! Professor Cornwall cleared up a haze I had about this point for years in 3 seconds. I don't understand why there are not more people who emphasis the difference between homologous and replicated homologous chromosomes. Thank you Professor Cornwall.
Very informative and detailed. It allows you to understand the concepts on a fundamental level.
I liked this lecture and I also like this teacher. I just sometimes find the explanations a little be confusing.
A student could do this lecture and it would be easier to understand. we expect better lectures from professors.
I'm really enjoying Dr. Cornwall lectures, I love the way she explains things!
Clearly presented talks and material. Very useful for undergraduate students.
Like the step-by-step discussion. Make it easier for me.
This topic is OVERLY simplified. It needs more in-depth explaination, which she claimed to offer later. But this brief section creates even more confusion... Maybe it is better to do a PROPER introduction, or just cut this one out... Also, she herself seems to be unsure and confused. I am not sure what her profession is, but DNA doesn't seem to be a topic, which she should lecture on... In the middle of the video she just blanked, and kind of skipped on some points... (That's not the first time or first lecture that she does that...) P.S. The powerpoint is also not accurate... The coding strand around 0:52 is indicated as template strand... This lecture is quite disappointing, and frankly, a very low quality compare to other Lecturio's lectures.
More organization is needed to explain this lecture because is an important part of the DNA synthesis.
I love her course. She explains in a very understandable way.
Content is spot on. And quizzes at the end of each videos are very helpful. Hope Georgina used a cursor or infra red light to point exactly what she was talking similar to other lecturers from other videos. An animated video clip of how each or some of the topics would be very useful.
Hello, I love supporting women in science and education, etc. I also will share my honest opinion to improve the educational site. This lecturer, while alright, is not the best you could get for Lecturio students. Her constant glancing over her notes is distracting and she is not very well articulated. Even though she is Ph.D., she has not digested her lecturing materials to the master's level. It is very unfortunate that she lectures on one of the most important subjects within your platform. Why you chose her? For the sake of diversity and involvement? I am sure there are much better and knowledgeable lady lecturers. Did not you see the disengagement and flaw after a couple of her lectures? Was she so cheap?
I am no longer scared of metabolic pathways. thank you so much.
Biochemistry by Georgina Cornwall is not good at all, she reads all the time and she doesn't even know what to talk about.
She didn't talk about the template strand. the prof fumbled with the coding strand and im actually confused if the coding strand, or the tremplate strand matches the sequence of the mRNA. She definitely seems disorganized. It didn't flow at all.
I liked these explanations, but if you are a college student this may not be for you
SHE IS NOT CONFIDENT IN TEACHING AND RUINS THE MOOD OF LEARNING
i liked the details and visualization. should have been there more mobility in the slides tho.
Need to explain better as it is very complicated and confuses us even more than we were before
Nice course very complete in every sense, I like it, keep like that.
Very clear and succinct. May have gone a bit too fast, but that's always manageable

I really liked it and enjoyed Dr Cornwall'ss explanation. The only issue was that the video slowed at some point.
this is a good lecture i really understand a lot of thing i haven't know before tysm
It is a good introduction for the following classes. It's not confusing, but more information could be added
Liked it too much as it's so easy to understand ????...but cannot afford premium ????
Dr. Cornwall is awesome! Her lecture are clear and concise. She makes the material so much more digestible.
I suppose it depends on your learning style. That is, most of the medical students I've spoken to, appreciate concise and coherent lectures - Unfortunately, in my personal opinion, this micro-lecture lacked the fundamental high concentration of information that most of us are looking for - to take notes, and practice the spaced repetition model. Instead, her speaking pace, and vocal expression are slightly too fast and the way in which she attempts to outline a basic idea isn't linear in nature which leads the viewer wanting to know more, while simultaneously trying to ignore the off-topic rants. Note: Clearly, she's qualified to teach - however, valid of a point that may be, doesn't mean she has the practical communication skills to do so. Therefore, this is not a question of intelligence, rather - communication and linguistic expression. There will certainly people who prefer this method, I however, can not recommend.
I had many doubts but with the lection, I improved much better
The lectures seem to cover all the necessary contents, but it’s often difficult to understand the topic until I go over the video again for several times.
This lecture clearly points out the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells in protein synthesis. It would be helpful for those who wish to briefly know how proteins are formed in each type of cell.
It is a good explanation for a complex topic, with only the most important
I like the format - the lectures are "short and sweet". The lecturer is reasonable easy to listen to. Perhaps it is just because this is a foundation course, but it does feel this material may not be in-depth enough for USMLE step 1. (Or perhaps because it's re-used for non-USMLE students?). The questions are just "okay". There are a few errors, and a couple questions could be worded better. It also seems that some of these questions are testing material that seems only marginally important, and may not be very "high-yield". I wish there was an option to flag review questions to not be included in the "spaced repetition". The "spaced repetition" idea should be for memorizing the most important details, and I don't really want to be memorizing questions that I think are of little importance, incorrect, or poorly worded. (It'd also be a good way your you at Lecturio to decide which questions should be revised - if many people flag it as "don't review again", the question probably needs revision.)
As I stated in prior lessons, Dr. Cornwall is such of an amazing instructor!!! She makes easy to understand heavy contents
the instructor is very clear and is easy to follow
Dr. Cornwall did a very great job with this.. The big picture simplified everything and made studying into little details easy.
very didactic I really enjoy Dr. Cornwall lectures, definitely Lecturio was the best addition to my preparation
el contenido esta muy bueno, solo que la traducción tiene falencias y dificulta entender los conceptos adecuadamente.
Everything is confusing. The diagrams and what she was saying didnt allign. ALso she never gave the answer to the number of chromosomes in each stage of meiosis and mitosis
the explanation is complicated it could be simplified more better
It is very concise but it provides enough information. I am very satisfied with Lecturio because this course and Biochemistry are exactly what i was looking for.
The video episodes are way too short, need to go back and start over every 3-4 minutes. I think there should be a option to view the topic in one full video. Otherwise the subjects are well covered in an understandable manner. Many thanks
Great Great great great great great great great great great
Great lecture! Very simplified and friendly explained. Thanks so much !
Each RNA should be shown in the picture like above
It is a good course but the content here is not really high yield.Do we need to spend so much time on it?
Very clear and useful for me to finally get a grip on this topic.
i can't understand why a lot of amazing videos have 1star points
I believe the term is entropy is misused in this lecture.
Awesome analogy great lecture! Very nice lectures overall I really enjoyed them. even though I have taught this topics and I know them fairly well. I enjoy little gems of information I received through these lectures, and new understanding
This is one of the few videos in this video series where the video cuts before the lecturer is done talking or before she's done with the material for the section. For example, in this one she only discusses E site and video cuts... what about the other 2 sites on the ribosome?
The instructor reading off the podium is not appreciated. It doesn't entice the viewer to keep watching.
I like a lot both the explanations and illustrations to the topic.
I like how Dr. Cornwall recaps chemistry and relation to energy to cells. Her hand motions help with my learning and understanding. Thank you.
Didn't explain clearly and concisely which each type of RNA was as well as providing its clear function. Additionally, it is best to provide the correct definition thus, followed by an analogy. Starting with an analogy of how the different RNA types can make the lesson hard to follow as well as, causing confusion in the actual definition of the term. This particular video was hard to gather information from.
4/5 also add on the replication bubble but as far as the other information well done i understood the concept
I like the practical comparisons used for better understanding and remembering the topic, makes it much easier and more entertaining!
Concise and to the point for basic understandment of the subject.
she was understandable! i liked her! i am so prepared for the next test we will be doing
The professor did not do a good job explaining concepts clearly, went too fast, covered little material
there wasn't enough details at some points. The topics, for me, are a little tough and the techer wasn't seems to be confident with the material. although the slides are very helpful to understand the topic.
Need lot of detailed explanations.. especially in videos. The teacher is really good but the script is lacking too much.
I love this app but can get a little confusing when the professor uses the wrong words or accidentally says the wrong thing. Do you not edit errors out? It’s a great platform just needs a few tweaks here and there.
This is pretty good introduction! haha how to control the cell cycle
I thought that this was very thorough and went over lots of the material that my current professor is going over. Some of the questions were either a little simple but reiterated take home points, or were left-field as the material was not covered in the specific video I just watched. Overall I would recommend this course to anyone struggling in genetics + read the comments because she does a great job in answering and clarifying questions you may not know that you had.
I like so much the content of this course and how the doctor provide the information
Concise with good use of slides and professional presence and dress.
P53 GeneRate this lecture P53 Gene Rate this lecture P53 Gene P53 Gene P53 GeneRate this lecture
she looked like she was reading from a script and not focused or natural.
Amazing lectures. Simplifies complex pathways and process. Really fantastic! Watched every lessons.
Easy to understand...high yield information....great graphics,well done!
Easier to comprehend with the use of great illustrations. concise and crisp presentations
Almost no information really disappointing. Use Step 1 2018 page 46 ... Even a student could have presented the topic in more depth as it is important.
I believe that she is a great lecturer but, the issue is the way of delivering the lesson and how much was she ready to record the tuition. anyway it was a good experience for both of us, she let me search a lot for the genetics to unwind condense informations :)
The lecturer did not appear confident looking into notes too often. Too many hand gestures are a distraction especially when not pointing to the stuff on the slides. The material was not presented in an easy or simple way. Made it more complicated that it actually is. I feel difficulty in continuing to the next lectures without understanding this.
I feel like she is just reading notes that she has been just handed over.
Dr. Cornwall is very thorough and paces herself very well in relating core concepts.
Very nice explanation and very clear voice even with 2X velocity (I´m a spanish speaker)
As much as your stories are interesting for the ETC gradient It does not fit my learning style. It would be nice to have clear scientific language about what's happening. I can't write a story on my exam paper. Perhaps this is just me.
Easy to understand and very complete. Thank you for your time, helped me a lot
Feels like she is not comfortable with information she is teaching. Accuracy of information (and spelling!) is sometimes questionable.
Great Explanation !! I wish we would have had you as a teacher. :)
You make it much more easier. However, I still understand all important points. Thank you!
Good lecture, but not USMLE focused. This is more of a general biology lecture than a USMLE prep lecture. It seems to me that Lecturio is not making the difference between MCAT prep and USMLE prep. The lectures look more like MCAT prep lectures and not USMLE.
I like the way she expresses, you can easily understand her
best prof in the world explains everything so good that even a kid will understand
Really great explanations of the whole process. Was not happy that I had to relearn Krebs and ETC but actually found these videos enjoyable and valuable.
Great enzyme analogy! Enzyme is the friend who puts his two other friends in contact with each other so that they can start talking and dating ;)
Nothing on how p53 relates to RB or how p53 induces p21 to inhibit CDK thus acting as a tumor suppressor by not allowing cell cycle progression. This info is found in the the First Aid for the USMLE so it is probably important.
Very clear what is going on. I understand it much better.
Loved the lectures, especially the lecture on the electron transport chain. Dr. Cornwall had a really useful analogy of the ETC and kids (electrons and hydrogens) going to the prom (ETC) that really made the concept stick. Very good job!
I feel that the delivery is good but the content is not detailed enough, e.g. when talking about splicing, I think it would have helped to talk about what ‘snurps’ are involved and how this relates to initiation.
It's an excellente teacher! She uses easy analogies that you can memorize quickly and gives you a summary of your class (in my case). Greetings from México!
I find the course very informative and helpful. I thank professor Cornwall explains very clearly
it is really good ,some hesitation at the beginning but the diagram is very informative ,whopple hypothesis needs more explanation.
Gooood job LoL and really a good story-maker????Thank you very much! Amazing, very impressive!
Thank you very much!! So funny and interesting! I laughed many times LoL also learned A Loooot!!!
I do not think there can be any simpler explanation of these concepts. Dr. Cornwall takes her time to explain these concepts in a way that they stick with you, and the analogies she uses engrave them into the medulla so that you can relate to the concept. You can't beat this! This is exceptional!!!! Thank you so much!!
First step to refresh and understand different concepts. Highly recommended.
excellent she is a very good teacher, the grafhics are didactical she explains in a very simple way, i like it
the explanations are very clear, and the topics are the necessary for the understanding of the basics that medical students need
I like the fact that the lectures are detailed and Dr.Cornwall makes it fun and easy to understand.
This is course is still challenging me but i can understand how abstract the concepts are i think i need an in-depth review of course
Thank you Dr. Cornwall, I really think genetics is quite a difficult concept so you are doing your very best, i must admit its very confusing at times i will need go over the concepts again.
This lecture was excellent in every way, I must say DR. Cornwall is a Pro in intermediate metabolism. I couldn't understand this processes better in medical school than she has made me.
Great lecturer who is knowledgeable about the subject. However the animations in both mitosis and meiosis would have been in motion so the explanations were tuff to follow. overall good attempt. keep up the good job.
Structured Learning; for the first time my study plan is more structured on what's important rather my own bias of choosing certain subjects over others. I believe this is the way to go, sadly I cant pick up the pace took me 2.5 days to do day one.
I am having my genetics exam soon and this course was extremely helpful to better understand the information. Thank you !
The lecturer uses great analogies to make concepts easier to understand.
These lectures are good , but it needs improvement it should be more in details , and the actions are not mentioned in its orders for example first of all initiation then elongation finally termination ..
I don't waste my time going to any biochemistry lectures at my medical school because I know that Dr Cornwall explains all of the content more clearly, in more depth, in less time. I always finish her lectures excited for the next one!
Brilliant! I have always found these topics extremely confusing at medical school, but Dr Cornwall is able to explain them in such a way that they seem straight forward and easy. This certainly replaces lectures for me! If anybody is unsure about trying this course, they should definitely try it! Dr Cornwall is the best biochemistry lecturer I have seen!
Dr. Cornwall hesitates a lot, and seems unprepared and unsure. Make people feel like she is reading the material and even not familiar with the reading materials. It is really confusing.
A great lecture. I am a high school student and i struggle with biology. I get a better explanation from your lectures and I am not even a native English speaker. Thank you so much!
This lecture and the one before are not so well explained. The clamp loader part and the process of semi discontinuous replication need more in depth explanation
Good clear concept review. Could use more specifics regarding cyclin and cdks.
Dr Georgina is amazing. Thank you for making all these difficult concepts easier for us.
What I loved the most about this lecture was how Dr. Cornwall actually took her time to explain the concepts discussed, and even used simple analogies to ensure that the information was easier to digest. This is something you find lacking in many professional lectures. Thanks again Dr. Cornwall!
Thank you dr. Georgina Cornwall! Everything was perfectly understood with your lecture!
She spends half an hour explaining the steps of meiosis and doesn't even get into details... I'm not sure how she can manage to explain such simple topics in such a long time (it's half a movie time, for God's sake!). She should base her lectures on Molecular Biology of the Cell, by Bruce Alberts et al., AT A MINIMUM. Lecturio has many excelling lecturers; unfortunately, Dr. Cornwall is not one of them.
Don't replace her. Good OVERVIEW/REVIEW of the material at hand. Her pace is good. Her voice and expression and everything else is dynamic and engaging.
Please replace her. Explanation is very poor, she hesitate a lot, and seems unprepared and unsure. It is confusing and in comparison to a lot of lecturers you have here, the standard is incredibly low!
She is very detailed but yet not overwhelming with the lecture. It's been great help on my bio knowledge.
Not very hard to understand, sometimes a bit too "shallow". However most often very good. Even great.
The Dr Georgina did it very well she know detail about the subject matter andinet did not express about her and execelentroll model for me!
Well, I love the way Dr. G explains, however, the lecture on cell control wasn't the best and needed more explanations and needed to be more simplified . I put five stars because Dr. G has helped me a lot and made Biology a fun course.
