Needed to review external sources
von Alaena A. am 28. Oktober 2021 für Labor Stage 1: Fetal Heart Rate Tracing
I personally do not think that there was not enough of necessary depth taken for this topic that I had to rely on what I learned in medical school or look up information on external sites, which is FINE, but I thought the whole point of these videos were for review and the topics that needed review were not covered.
I think the basic concept that of comparing the fetal heart tracing to the maternal tracing is missed. The explanation of the categories was so confusing. It should have just been Category I is this, Category III is this, and Category II is anything not above - this is so plain and simple. Instead, the lecture slide made it look like there were certain criteria that needed to be met for Category II.
I do not think this was the best lecture by Dr. Gillispie and I recommend looking for outside sources to review this topic.

Very hard to follow
von Olivier S. am 22. August 2021 für Abnormal Menstruation
Very hard to follow. It is a shame since it is an important subject for the OBGYN rotation.
The lecture should be more structured between the subject. It would be beneficial to follow a more classical approach, so we can properly follow.
i.e. : 1st present primary amenorrhoea, the secondary. After that, have a few lectures on individual entities (Pathophysiology ? Presentation ? Diagnostic ? Management). Then finish with a lecture to differentiate the differential diagnostic.
I really tried to give the course a chance, but it is a mess to follow, and I had to consult other sources to understand key differences between the diagnosis.

Presentation and Content seemed poor.
von Shivam P. am 06. Mai 2020 für Reproductive Pathology: Breast Disease with Carlo Raj
Please take my suggestions as sites to improve rather than criticism.
I have been going through Lecturio resource material for about a month and, frankly speaking, I was not disappointed by any of the topics except Breast Pathology. I believe this is not the way to teach pathology. Pathology, like physiology, should not be mugged up, It should be understood. While talking about the lesions, simply jotting down the points is not enough. I believe we must have labelled diagram - either animated or real - along with it which will aid the memory of the students, as in Pathological Basis of Disease. The initial lectures about congenital deformities were fine, however, the tumors seemed evasive. I could not correlate with my class lectures and textbook.
I might have my expectations heightened when it comes to Lecturio, but you guys deserve it.

Good
von Stefan D. am 24. Oktober 2019 für Abnormal Menstruation
Overall good. I don't understand the 1 star ratings. I do agree that a significant amount of time is spent refering to other videos which is not necessary, people know that if they want to learn more about congenital adrenal hyperplasia they can view a CAH lecture. It does not have to be repeated twice in the same lecture.
Also wish that the questions would reflect the taught material, if you wish to have them about something else, please review that topic (if only briefly) in the lectures. Often the majority of questions where not covered in the lecture.
informative

Robotic, Not Great
von Patrick H. am 12. September 2019 für Ilium – Osteology of Lower Limb
Not very good. He's just spouting out facts, sounds like he's probably reading from a teleprompter.
Excellent as per Dr. Raj's norm.
von Pete K. am 27. August 2019 für Breast Cancer Classification
Always enjoy lectures by Dr. Raj. Very informative and one of my favorite lecturers.
Disorganized, superficial and not exhaustive
von Hissan B. am 19. August 2019 für Abnormal Menstruation
The instructor merely reads the slides without much explanation.
Many important but basic topics in gyne are not covered.
Finally, the lectures are utterly disorganized and the instructor makes innumerable references to her other lectures to "read more".
Great explanations.

I've chosen to give these points because Prof. Peter Delves explains in a concise and simple way, so has a student I can understand in detail all panorama.

von Sara D. am 17. Januar 2019 für Ovary: Secondary and Mature Follicle – Female Reproductive System

Lectures need work!
von Sara D. am 15. Januar 2019 für Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
These lectures are overly simplified and too short so they don't provide enough or even any detail on the organism, diagnosis, presentation, and treatment. Seemed like a waist of my time to even listen to these. Lengthen the videos and they will become more useful.
DIagrams.

Wonderful lecture series
von Aaron S. am 24. Oktober 2018 für Pelvis [Archive]
Dr. Pickering is one of my favorite instructors on Lecturio! He's always clear and concise; while not leaving anything overlooked. My university professor nervously breezed through this material due to the nature of these topics, which left most of us confused and irritated. More jokes then learning. I was really only able to understand via this lecture series. I'm truly grateful Lecturio exists and I feel so much more confident heading into my examination.
Video lectures and Delivery
von Nadia D. am 18. Oktober 2018 für Placenta: Blood Flow, Barriers & Exchange
Although the lecture content is good. This speaker frequently uses inappropriate sentence structure and phrasing. The result is certain sentences, when spoken, become confusing even though their content is simple.
For example...Lets talk about how the placenta and its roles in helping the fetus develop.
The sentence makes sense when you read it in the script without having listened to it. However, in the mini-lecture, it was read without pauses or breaks that clarified the emphasis of the sentence. it should have been read as:
For example...Lets talk about how the placenta, and its roles in helping the fetus, develop.
I know the speaker is likely reading a script, but it happens frequently where his enunciation or sentence delivery does not match the context of sentence. This adds a certain layer of listener confusion which delays the rate at which an individual is progressing through each mini-lecture (4-min lecture becomes 7-minutes). This happens frequently with this speaker and is not a huge deal, until you are forced to listen to all of the physiology lectures, and then become agitated.
Very helpful thankyou!!
von Sophie W. am 13. Oktober 2018 für Pelvic Walls – Pelvic Floor
I actually disagree with the above. Definitely really easy to follow, especially with the colour changes on the diagrams. It is, after all, an anatomy lecture and he teaches in a way that does allow you to think contextually for yourself without being super explicit about it. Thanks James

2. The pdf contains the WHO classification for secondary amenorrhea but was not part of the lecture.
3. What makes a female athlete triad a triad?- That should be included in the lecture.

Hi, just curious as to why a video like "Normal Menstrual Cycle" is all the way at the bottom? The ordering of this entire gynae course, not just this "Abnormal Menstruation" section (which again, is the first section on the contents page), makes navigating and understanding the content more difficult. Would it be possible to re-order them?

Lacking
von Bill T. am 10. Februar 2018 für Hypothalamic Amenorrhea and Case Studies
This lecture (over the last 3) is a bit problematic - there should be 2 versions: a version for students who are looking for information going along side classes and another (this one) more suited for USMLE fast review.
Too much "see the other video for more info" when a 1 sentence summary and link to the other video to pause and expand knowledge would be helpful.
However, regardless of knowledge the clinical case studies should really emphasize thought process and diagnostic workup. This was "think about what it could be" then provides a barebones answer which you also couldn't have reached terminology wise because it was never defined until reaching the case study. A detailed map, explanation and full answer with details would have been better.

Great if not for the break neck speed
von Joachim M. am 11. Januar 2018 für Conception, Implantation and Fetal Development
It's good but way too fast. I've already watched the old course by another lecturer and had lectures at school and read my embryology book on this about 6 weeks ago and am using this as exam prep to remember what I've forgotten while focusing on anatomy till now but even though this is not new territory, it is still too fast. Have to pause to read the slides and rewind a lot.
If this is watched by someone completely new to embryology, they'd have a hard time following this.
It's funny there's a button to increase speed. Might wanna add an option to slow it down too.
It could be more detailed but for me personally, this covers the level of detail in our exams.

excellent
von kate H. am 27. Juni 2017 für Pyelonephritis (Kidney Infection) and Perinephric Abscess: Diagnosis & Management
concise, really easy to listen to. Gave salient points very well. Loved the pause for thought on the red flag of having a staph aureus urinary tract infection.
Nice lecture

Hormone Replacement Therapy (in a nutshell).
von Steve P. am 16. Juni 2017 für Hormone Replacement Therapy
I’m just getting an over view at the moment however, Dr Lynae Brayboy’s lectures are lovely, clear and informative thank you! Interesting that alternative treatments are also mentioned though made clear not FDA approved. But that is expected from the FDA as they tend only to be concerned with synthetic drugs and not herbal treatments. While most herbal treatments have been used throughout history and are said to have little or no side effects can still be dangerous (contraindicated) if taken with or along side prescribed medications. I believe this comes across pretty clearly in these lectures, that strive to be unbiased. But as stated Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a controversial treatment.

LCIS, Choice between FNA and CNB
von Hamed S. am 29. März 2017 für Malignant Breast Diseases
It would have been good to talk about LCIS as well as DCIS particular as the management differs. Also no discussion of the choice between FNAs and CNB in regards to sensitivity and specificity.
No mention of Westernblot, Window period and Treatment Failure
von Hamed S. am 28. März 2017 für Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV): Diagnosis and Management
I'd would have like to know where western blots fit in the diagnostic pathway. I think in Australia after positive confirmation of p24 go on to perform westernblots. Also what about the impact the window period has and the new for follow up testing? Finally it would have been good to discuss what is considered to be as treatment failure with HAART.
Fun Lectures
von Bryce C. am 24. März 2017 für Disorders of Vulva, Vagina and Cervix
Dr. Raj really presents the material well and makes it fun. I think that I especially appreciate his lectures because he asks questions throughout and keeps us on our toes. I could be driving to school for 30 min, doing dishes, or just watching to take a break from notes and I always get involved in his videos.
Great Video!
von Lindsey S. am 13. März 2017 für Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV): Definition and Pathology
