Make videos longer ( about 10-20 minutes) and add a new feature just inverse of bookmatcher
von Majid N. am 23. Oktober 2022 für Abdomen [Archive]
I think the videos are too short. Most of them are about 1 or 2 minutes. I think it make it hard to focus while studying, it would be much better if videos where usually about 10_20 minutes.
Also I feel there is a lack of a feature just inverse of bookmatcher. I mean it would be great if after watching a series of videos for example videos of rectus sheath I could find out which pages of Grey's anatomy or Netter atlas of anatomy I can study to deepen my knowledge.

von Andres d. am 16. Juni 2022 für Reproductive Physiology
Great course! I will recommend it to all of my peers. I love that the speaker speaks clearly and slowly, although the pace becomes a normal conversational pace at 1.25x speed. This allows me to go through the content that is easy for me to understand quickly (at 1.25x to 1.5x speed) while I go through more difficult content at a slower pace (1.0x speed) without having the speak sound like he was drunk (0.75x to 0.5x speed).
"The devil is in the details"
von Deborah H. am 21. Mai 2022 für Abdomen [Archive]
I will always recommend the Lecturio platform to anyone studying for the medical boards who have been away from clinical and didactic. The level of detail that the lectures approach is so helpful. However, sometimes the bigger perspective should always be kept and mentioned throughout the lectures. There are times when I "lose sight of the forest for the trees". It will also help to remind the listener of associated functions constantly. Thank you, sincerely.

Needed to review external sources
von Alaena A. am 28. Oktober 2021 für Labor Stage 1: Fetal Heart Rate Tracing
I personally do not think that there was not enough of necessary depth taken for this topic that I had to rely on what I learned in medical school or look up information on external sites, which is FINE, but I thought the whole point of these videos were for review and the topics that needed review were not covered.
I think the basic concept that of comparing the fetal heart tracing to the maternal tracing is missed. The explanation of the categories was so confusing. It should have just been Category I is this, Category III is this, and Category II is anything not above - this is so plain and simple. Instead, the lecture slide made it look like there were certain criteria that needed to be met for Category II.
I do not think this was the best lecture by Dr. Gillispie and I recommend looking for outside sources to review this topic.

von Gulbanu S. am 20. Oktober 2021 für Neurophysiology
Hi Lecturio Team,
Yes, I like it a lot neurophysiology by doctor Thad Wilson. Great presentation and explanation.
In my view, the neurophysiology is one of the vital key of the medicine by knowing it and combining knowledge and skills with anatomy, pathophysiology and surgery you could figure out pathology in terms of when you facing patients with traumatic injury .
In contrast when you seeing infected patient with contagious viruses, bacteria and fungi and so on, of course you need to immediately think about combining knowledge and skills of microbiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology and biochemistry. Yes, all courses are given so well presented.
Yes . I certainly enjoyed it Lecturio as it has all components of courses which are important for every doctor who wants to excel their skills. Many thanks indeed for the course organizers, Showing on cadaver will be even better to get precise knowledge and skills.

Disappointing Lecture

Dr. Meyer is a great teacher, a lot from my experience with his videos regarding the introduction to the mammalian cell however, this video definitely left a lot to be discerned and was not very informative. Required me to do a lot of googling to make sense of much of these... Hard to follow and disappointing.

von Stephen A. am 12. Juni 2020 für The Eye: General Structure
Here is a quote from which describes Lecturio:
"In order to take on this challenge, Lecturio created a high-quality digital medical education resource, which is affordable, adaptive, and personalized. We designed our platform with the needs of learners and faculty in mind, combined with the latest state-of-the-art learning technology and comprehensive monitoring and assessment features."
The lecturer keeps saying that he is going to have the "anatomists" explain the structure in detail...so why are we wasting our money looking at this. I paid for a subscription to this site for "state-of-the-art learning technology." If a customer clicks on the video to see a presentation on the general structure of the eye, they shouldn't have to waste their time watching a PowerPoint with no pictures of the eye. It is an insult for customers to have this guy put up this type of presentation. My textbooks have better supplemental material .
Someone please edit this guy's presentation - or just pay a high schooler to bring "state-of-the-art" technology to your site!
von Stephen A. am 12. Juni 2020 für Iris
This is what you read on Lecturio's site:
"In order to take on this challenge, Lecturio created a high-quality digital medical education resource, which is affordable, adaptive, and personalized. We designed our platform with the needs of learners and faculty in mind, combined with the latest state-of-the-art learning technology and comprehensive monitoring and assessment features."
STATE OF THE ART??? These are PowerPoint slides!!! The guy is talking about different structures and you have to pause the video to find what he is trying to reference! Get a pointer. Use an arrow. Show the viewer the exact location you want to emphasize. If I turned this type of presentation in for a grade, I would get it returned. Kahn Academy, Ken Hub...this is as low tech as you can get. I expected so much more. You are supposed to save us time. I hate writing this but other people have to know that this lecturer's delivery - I might as well get a text book out and read it to myself.

Dr. Pickering is one of my favorite instructors on Lecturio! He's always clear and concise; while not leaving anything overlooked. My university professor nervously breezed through this material due to the nature of these topics, which left most of us confused and irritated. More jokes then learning. I was really only able to understand via this lecture series. I'm truly grateful Lecturio exists and I feel so much more confident heading into my examination.

Video lectures and Delivery
von Nadia D. am 18. Oktober 2018 für Placenta: Blood Flow, Barriers & Exchange
Although the lecture content is good. This speaker frequently uses inappropriate sentence structure and phrasing. The result is certain sentences, when spoken, become confusing even though their content is simple.
For example...Lets talk about how the placenta and its roles in helping the fetus develop.
The sentence makes sense when you read it in the script without having listened to it. However, in the mini-lecture, it was read without pauses or breaks that clarified the emphasis of the sentence. it should have been read as:
For example...Lets talk about how the placenta, and its roles in helping the fetus, develop.
I know the speaker is likely reading a script, but it happens frequently where his enunciation or sentence delivery does not match the context of sentence. This adds a certain layer of listener confusion which delays the rate at which an individual is progressing through each mini-lecture (4-min lecture becomes 7-minutes). This happens frequently with this speaker and is not a huge deal, until you are forced to listen to all of the physiology lectures, and then become agitated.

The Brain of Brain–Computer Interfaces
von Kevin C. am 07. Juni 2018 für Neurophysiology
I've been interested in cyborg technology since first learning about it in the mid-1970's when I was a little kid. In 1988 when I began at the University of Washington I wanted to study remote-controlled people, but they didn't offer any courses in that field, although 25 years later the school published their EEG brain-to-brain interface that lets one person control the motions of another. In February 1997 while successfully debating cloning legislation with the Department of Defense, I was ordered to stand down when trying to discuss brain implants, but eventually in 2005 my paper was credited as the basis for the Wikipedia article on the subject, and on 2 April 2013, the 17th anniversary of my first sworn statement to the Seattle FBI detailing organized crimes against children at a media giant, President Obama announced funding for the BRAIN Initiative. Even Jesus said go help out at the vineyard if you want to build heaven, and folks grumbled because they just assumed it already existed as if by magic.

von Joseph D. am 03. Juni 2018 für Hormones and Signal Transduction
Hello Dr. Ahern. Your lectures were phenomenal, but for several of the lectures the slides did not correspond with your lecture (they were of totally different topics) or they changed midway into into unrelated biochemistry topics. It may be best to review them and adjust the errors. However, your presentation was so so good that I was easily able to follow your lectures with the downloaded lecture slides.

Clinical signs of diseases issue
von Yousef A. am 19. November 2017 für Neurophysiology
Sometime the lecturer comes through clinical signs of patients with particular diseases and doesn't explain that sign, just introducs it to that disease. We need to know how that sign looks like when we encouter a patient so that we know how to deal with him.
Neuro is not that bad!
von Santiago R. am 15. November 2017 für Cranial Nerve IV: Trochlear Nerve
I find verything related to the brain and nerves to be very difficult to understand, but Dr. Canby makes it easy to get and this makes the whole learning process far more enjoyable.
I don't know if it's just me but when I really like the lessons and the teacher, its much easier for me to pay attention and keep on listening.

von William J. am 25. September 2017 für Cranial Nerve IV: Trochlear Nerve
Concise and easy to understand as always! The trochlear nerve only innervates the superior oblique muscle, but Dr Canby's diagrams are excellent - far better than what we use in lectures! I'm a happy student!
Lack of 3D figurs
von Iskandar N. am 25. September 2017 für Pelvis [Archive]
It is good but still needs to be improved.
For exsampel if the teachers used the 3D figurs to explain, lecturs would be more cleare. Sometimes only picturs are not enough.

Great resource
von Hudanur Z. am 22. September 2017 für 12 Cranial Nerves and Their Functions
Dear Prof Canby,
Thank you for taking the time to create this resource.
I did enjoy it and I found it easy to follow.
During the first few lectures, I was hoping for more information on some of the muscles which were involved, and towards the end of the course, you included pictures of the muscles with their attachments which were very helpful.
Thank you for including the clinical considerations too.
I needed to search some information myself, such as the meaning of general somatic / visceral afferents / efferents, online. I had not studied this before. You began clarifying the role of these towards the end of the course, e.g. general somatic efferent has motor control. This was helpful in consolidating the meaning these terms. A bit more information in the beginning may have been helpful.
I look forward to viewing more of your lectures.
Best wishes,
Hudanur

von Oluwatomi A. am 22. August 2017 für Inferior Mesenteric Artery – Arterial Supply to the GI Tract
Why am I rating this lecture at all?
I had to pause a video just to wrote this review because I was just so grateful that it was broken down so well with the schematic diagram. I was feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information in the blood supply and wondering if there was a way i can get it down quickly and have the concept clear in my mind.
These schematics are awesome and are saving my medical life right now!!!!
Good but not perfect.

von Lucas S. am 24. April 2017 für Bone Remodeling
In my opinion, this course on muscles is good for a review of the most important points of the topic. I couldn't find the striated muscle lecture, there are only smooth muscle lectures here. I think a little bit of more detail could make this course perfect!
Boring
