Adrenal Gland Disorders

Adrenal Gland Disorders

by Michael Lazarus, MD

Adrenal gland disorders encompass all illnesses that can affect the adrenal glands. The endocrine nature of these disorders gives them a very distinctive set of clinical findings that will ultimately aid in timely diagnosis and management, without mentioning they are prominently featured in examinations.

In this course, the student will be introduced to adrenal insufficiency and excess, pheochromocytoma, and hyperaldosteronism. The discussions will include clinical vignettes extracted from clinical practice.

For optimal comprehension, the student is required to have preliminary knowledge of the histology, physiology, and pathology of the adrenal glands.
