Fair to above average in Bacteria.
By Thomas L. on 20. June 2021 for Bacteria
I thought the introductory lectures were to indroductory and to much of a waste of time. I felt they introductory lecture were a insult to a medical students education level. I almost turned them off and went on to another section but, much later the same professor started to increase the level of knowledge in each video. This is the reason I am giving four stars. Please revise the introductory lectures in microbiology. A USMLE student does not have time to waste. I'm not done with the lectures on microbiology so I'd also like to comment later and here I feel I have been very generous with my review.

confusing and disorganised
By KAI KAM L. on 25. March 2021 for Salmonella – Enteric Bacteria
I got to say, i love Racaniello's videos on microbiology so far. But this series of the enteric bacteria is confusing and disorganised. Some of the slides provided are different from the ones used by him.
Sometimes the script adds some erroneous information, making the already confusing explanation even worse.

Not Enough about Staph (Missed S. Saprophyticus and S. Epidermidis)
By Derwin P. on 18. April 2019 for Staphylococci
This set of lectures on Staph were very generalized and did not cover the other Staph bacteria commonly seen on STEP 1 (i.e. saprophyticus and epidermidis). This seems to be a common theme of not going deep enough to cover material necessary for STEP, yet advertising that you all cover enough material for STEP 1.
Absolutely insufficient for USMLE
By Kyle S. on 10. April 2019 for Bacteria
The material taught seemed to comprise of only 10% of what we need to know for USMLE. Various bacteria ranging from gram positive cocci all the way to mycobacteria were all missing.
And even with the bacteria taught ( streptococci, staphyloccci , vibrio , e.coli , shigella, salmonella) lacked a tremendous amount of depth.
Very disappointing that I paid for this.
Hoping virology lectures will be better.

Well presented, but incomplete material
By Elizabeth N. on 12. March 2019 for Bacteria
Mr Racaniello presents all of the material very well and I believe that he is an excellent lecturer. However, there are many important types of bacteria missing from this course. Pseudomonas, Treponema Pallidum, zoonoses, Clostridium, Tetanus, Helicobacter Pylori, Neisseria, Bordetella, etc. USMLEs step 1 go into great detail regarding many of these bacteria that were omitted from this course.

Overall good, but need more details
By Yoshihiko M. on 14. January 2018 for Bacteria
I think each lecture is great, but the contents are not enough for USMLE. More precisely, the contents of general principle parts are helpful, but those of detailed exposition parts should be improved to contain more information. For example, You need to provide us for more details about many types of bacteria. The number of kinds of bacteria addressed in this course is small. It's far from enough for USMLE step 1. The same same goes for viruses. The others are favorable.
